I'm betting that nearly everyone has a better Abaddon setup than that.
I haven't run one since the nos nerf, but before that it was probably the king of all nos boats with its utter unkillability.
From the looks of your setup you're running missions with it?

eww. you can't run an injector in missions. they last WAY too long. there are also many level 4's that will easily break that tank.

Actually a 1 Repper 4 Hardener Abbadon will rep almost as much as a regular ship with Dual rep and 3 hardeners, thanks to it's 20-25% resistance bonus. Although for a single repper setup it's a lot more comfortable to have a Faction repper.
Though personally I'd go for 1 Tracking comp and 3 cap rechargers instead of TC, Web, Cap Rch and injector. Missions do last way too long. Webbers aren't worth it anyway on a battleship. With a TC II you can easily hit rat cruisers. Frigs die quickly to your drones. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. personally, i would drop down to dual heavy pulse to get rid of the mental cap usage from the megapulse. you will still hit stuff at some 40 - 50km with dual heavy pulse which is fine for missions.
also i would go for a dual rep tank with 3 hardeners and dump all your meds for cap recharger II. if more tank is needed after that (unlikely) then drop the heat sinks for cap power relays and swap the ccc for nano pumps, but i dont think you'd need to bother

I was trying out the one of the setups that was suggested here on EFT with my skill set... and what I got for this setup: was
Lows:
2 x Heatsink II 3 x Hardener II 1 x DC II 1 x LAR II
Med: 3 x CR II 1 x optical Tracking Computer
Highs:
8 x Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beams
3 x CCC I Running everything (wich I'm assuming can happen in a lvl 4 mission) will burn you out of cap in 3 m 35 sec. All be it I don't have the greatest skills in the world yet but it seems like that would be way faster than the mission is going to last? On a plus note you would be putting out about 630 DPS and have like 80k effective hp.
I dunno... Maybe swap one of those rechargers out for a Cap Booster with 800s? With it running you would go indef with all modules running (or untill you ran out of charges) Was just thinking about it so I thought I would post my noobness here. =)

Dude, I started doing level 4s in an Abaddon last week and let me save you a lot of pain and suffering: stay away from cap boosters on missions. It took me three hours to do Blockade - not because I was getting killed or didn't have enough DPS (although the constant jamming was irritating) - but because I kept having to go back and fill my ship with booster charges every 5 minutes.
Cap-stable loadouts are the way to go. CCCs, Power Relays and Cap Rechargers make mission-running much easier. Save the Boosters for PvP, which is often under 3 minutes. -- Meridius Dex --

If you check the Abaddon's bonuses you find that it doesn't have the Amarr standard Laser cap use bonus, which means that the Abaddon uses a lot more cap to fire it's guns than other Amarrian ships. The Abaddon really needs good cap skills to survive properly. I have perfect cap skills and cannot run everything on my Abaddon forever (8 megapulse II, AB, 2 reps + 3 hardeners).
Still, it is a bit of a beast while it does last

I usually only fly Blood, Sansha, or Angel Missions, so 3 hardeners is usually enough. I'm a big advocate of 3xHS IIs, the damage will get you through the mission quicker, and also lower the dps you have to tank.

Yarlan Zey`s hardcore mission setyp.
************************** high: 8x Tachyon Beam Laser II
************************** medium: 1x Shadow Serpentis Sensor Booster; 2x Setele`s Modified Tracking Computer; Cap Recharger II
************************** low: 1x Medium AR II; 3x Visan`s Modified Heat Sinks; 1x Vizan`s Modified Cpacitor Power Relay; 1x Gotan`s Modified Tracking Enchancer; 1x Vizan`s Modified Reactor Control Unit
************************** rigs: 2x CCC rigs; 1x Energy Collision Accelerator
************************** implants: 1x +5% damage for all turets; 1x +5% damage for Large Energy Turets; 1x +5 tracking; 1x PG4 +3% grid.
10.2 mill in gunnery. and BS lvl5
Its just a different point of view. I`m doing with that all blood/sansha lvl4 missions. without exceptions. the gank tank is better because its more time efficient..the faster you kill, the more ISK you have.

My gunnery skills suck hugely so all I worry about is living atm while I train guns as I'm a noob. I can tank just about everything until the killing gets so slow and I agro the whole room, I get a lot of angel mish so its even slower I have 4 cap recharger 2s in mids LAR 2 and rest hardeners I can run everything 24/7 using 4 tachs and 4 pulse

^^ Do not mix guns.
pve:
8x megabeam 2 or tachy 1, same fitting. faction ammo.
4x cap recharger 2
Lar2, 3x hardener, 2x hs2, pdu2 or cpr or another hs. depends on skills.
3x ccc rig.
It's cap stable and hits hard and far. Drones take care of near & small. But the plan is to get distance so you can snipe even frigs.
pvp: 8x mp2 w scorch & AN MF scram, web, sb, cap booster
3x 1600 plate, 2x eanm, 2x hs OR 3x plate, ex and kin hard, eanm, hs2.
3x trimark armor pump
45k armor with good resists and decent dps. ___ Apocalypse Mining. Mine your way to heaven.

Hmm, 2 reppers on the Abaddon is a bit overkill. Wastes a lot of cap not to mention the slot. If you are serious about Amarr Battleships you should have it at 5 plus your armor comp skills at 5 or at least 4. Same with all gunnery the support skills to 4-5. If you play it smart and don't trigger multiple spawns you are fine with 1 repairer in lvl 4's.
Can even run missions against Guristas, Gallente, Angels etc with 1 repairer. Yeah i do these sometimes for fun and no i am not a masochist, well just a little...it's good to do them instead of Bloods, Sansha and Drones all the time if you can get away from being a mission *****, it's a game yeah? not a job.
Ranged tanking is the way to go in lvl 4s, eliminate your threats from afar to minimize damage.
Perma run Abaddon
High (switch out depending on mission) 8x Mega Pulse II (scorch) 50-60km (Navy Xray for closer targets) 25-35km or 8x Mega Modulated Energy Beam I (Navy Xray) 50-70km
Mid 1x Shadow Serpentis TC 3x Cap Recharger II
Low 1x Amarr Navy LAR 1x Amarr Navy EANM 1x CPR II 2x Amarr Navy HS 2x Hardener II (rat specific, swapping out a HS for Kin / Therm / Exp omni tank missions)
3x CCC rigs
5x Light II and 5x Medium II drones (rat specific)

Try this one, works like a charm (for lvl 4 missions). Don't run out of cap, don't break your tank. 4 year old char, amarr specialized.
8 Mega Pulse II (Scorch L) --------------------------- AB 3 Cap Rechargers II --------------------------- LAR II Thermal Hardener II EANM II Tracking Computer II 2 Heat Sinks II 1600 Rolled Tungsten -------------------------- 3 CCC rigs
You can switch 1 hsII for another race hardener when you have to fight guristas or angels. Ofc I use everything on low slots faction, otherwise I will be using an apoc.

Edited by: Shardrael on 08/12/2007 04:11:28 8mp2's named mwd/tracking comp webber, 2 heavy cap boosters(or 1 heavy and 1 medium depending on cpu) -- need turret cpu implants for 2 heavies I think 3 1600 RT plates, 2 HS2's EANM2, DC 2 3tri mark armor pump rigs
3 ogre 2's
has an absurd dmg output and over 40k armor with all resists above 65% I think, it takes a small fleet or large gang to break through the tank on this in any reasonable amount of time.
took it up against a ratting raven once to see how the tank faired and how well it took down the ravens tank. We both started firing, I broke his tank into armor once before he got me to 90% armor waited for his shields to recharge then broke it again from full before my armor dropped below 70% then waited for the recharge again and then broke it a third time before my armor was below 50%. During the whole engagement the raven did not stop firing..... ohh never used the drones in that fight really as the damn raven had two smartbombs
this ship is a beast with this setup but bewary to hug gates or station undocks because this thing aligns and warps about the same speed as a carrier.
