Hey.
I've been using my Dell Latitude D420 Laptop for EVE for a while now with very little problems. However, ever since Trinity, I have had consistent crashing. It seems I am only stable when I am docked.
Anyone else notice increased crashing.

Same here. I have Latitude D810 (Intel), ATI Mobility Radeon X600. Everything was great until this patch was released. Now, I can't be sure I can undock without crashing the system. Haven't even bothered with the Premium junk. You mention Intel compatibility problems, I notice the ATI driver the forum points you to is an AMD site. Ironic. Oh well, been a good game for a couple of years.

Yeah, I just bought this laptop, I cannot afford to buy yet another computer. Hopefully CCP will fix this, or else I'll have to take an extended break until I can afford a PC.

Edited by: Annowyn on 07/12/2007 05:36:36 Same-ish issue. Stable when I am docked, or not warping. i.e. hanging out in a mission pocket. When I undock or warp to a station I crash, not to desktop, but to reboot, 80% of the time.
EDIT: I am on a desktop, not a laptop.

edit: no premium, 2004 laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, xp sp2

That would make sense, most of these laptops have low-end cards. But, I do remember CCP stating that if EVE worked prior to the patch, it would work post-patch. This simply isn't the case.

DC problems are not connected with laptops, people who play on desktop also experience DC and/or crashing. Its something in EVE client, hopefully something which will be fixed soon, before problem persist, and before many players just lose theirs tranquility. I consulted moralists to learn how to appear, philosophers to find out what to think and novelists to see what I could get away with and in the end it all came down to one principle:win or die. |

Are you guys submitting bug reports on this stuff? We linux and mac users are also having serious crashing problems, and it appears that the commonality is that its "classic". (we don't have premium gfx yet due to shader model 3 issues that will be fixed 1st quarter 08.)
I find it interesting that all three forums have the same major issues thread (random crashes) and we were (in our sections) getting all upset at Transgaming...when....hmmmm.
Anyway, just bug report the stuff. the more info they have the faster we get fixed.

Check this thread out folks...
It seems older video card drivers work better than newer ones on Eve classic.

Mine is an older GFX card. This laptop isn't a new model by any means.
A corp mate on a Latitude 600 series laptop managed to solve it by doing a driver roll-back. Didn't work for me though :(.
