Hello, I'm a n00b too (well, 2 weeks in) and I'm loving EVE. I guess theres alot of N00bs because in the Uk EVE has just gone on the 19.99 offer in most EB's and Game stores so loads of new UK-ers who didnt buy it the first time rounfd at full price.
I had had a wale of a time in eve, I have over the last 2 weeks formed a gamng of N00b miners who have all taken on different roles - miner, fighter support, Trawler, Scout etc and we are doing OK. We broke our first million a head last night mining plastioclause and Veldspar (where the hells all the omber gone?).
Anywyas, sayying hello, I plan to be around for some time.

Fellow n00b here as well. Been playing for around 2 weeks now, and what a cool game ! Reminds me very much of Elite which was a classic in it's own right. Haven't joined a corp as yet - remaining freelance at the moment, whilst still learning the game.

Just a bit of history, CCP released a video while in production of this game and said that the main influence was Elite and Privateer.
Have fun out there! --------------------------------------------------

Well I'm still fairly new... only about 7 weeks into EVE :)
and I'm having loads of fun, hunting NPC rats in 0.4 to 0.2 systems in my Carcal.
What made me come into EVE, was I was getting tired of Earth and Beyond, having been there for a month before it went live, and watching it turn into a 'l33t' only game... so I thought I'd try my luck in a more 'grown up' game.

Hi everyone. I'm a NOOB too. Been playing about 2 weeks or so. Just got my second character out of training. I started playing Eve because the othe spce game I was playing *cough*E&B*cough* was getting boring and I think it will be gone by years end. -Erich

New to EVE as well. Just started a couple days ago and I'm getting more intrigued. Especially since it appears that players can effect the storyline. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue. - Franþois, duc de La Rochefoucauld |

Good evening, my name's Paul, and I'm an Eveoholic. Two weeks in, and thinking of giving up, because I need more sleep. And I could too, if I really wanted to...
I got the UK PC Gamer free 3-day trial, then paid for an extension. How much playing time is included with the retail game? Do you think I could buy a retail copy and extend my playing time with it for ú9.99?

I played in the Beta many moons ago, and kind just left it at that, not sure why to be prefectly honest! A couple of weeks ago I decided to have a look at the EVE website... hmmm yeah looks nice, was a bloody good game! Ok I though I want it NOW. Damn, shipping is going to take about 5 days... so I carried on looking around the site... "Download EVE here"
Broadband kicked in and the game was download! Payed my subscription and have not stopped playing since, think this is the end of my second week. I am lucky enough to work for myself so I get to play EVE all day, well that''''''''s not striclty true, but it''''''''s running for around 16hrs every day on the laptop while I beaver away on teh PC.
What made me want to play? The choices you have are limitless, I am currently building up a fleet of ships so that I am not restricted to what I do. One day I will mine, the next I will fight then maybe I will do some trading... after that I may want to explore the universe, the options are there and I intend to take advantage of them.
I think I can honestly say, the only other game in my 20+ years of playing games that has got me so hooked as EVE was Elite. EnB was nice, X2 is nice... but EVE is different.
Another thing I find nice is the quality of people within the game, nice attitudes and always willing to help.
The most annoying thing about EVE... well, that has to be the hour downtime

Just like Mastik I was a beta tester. I think that's when the first addiction to Eve pretty much hit. My greatest achivement is getting my flatmate addicted too :D Trying to re-learn everything again.
And for all you ex-beta testers all I can say is :
Bring back Armaggedon DAY!

Well it looks like there are alot of former E&B players here including myself. I'm also a former Beta player and the only reason i didn't pick it up after it went live is because at the time i found the gameplay a bit slow. But now that i have given eve a week i found out that this game is as fast paste or slow as you want ( especialy if you ploted a 30 jump trip )
BTW what are "rats" since i've seen people talk about em but i have no idea what or where they are.
If it moves shoot it, If you think it's dead shoot it some more just in case |

New to EVE as well, formerly of Earth & Beyond. Came here because I'm sorely disapointed in the direction EA is taking (lol or not taking) the game. I also like the fact that there is real danger here to keep you on your toes, how space should be. E&B was starting to feel like I was flying around with training wheels...

Hello Me again!
Thought i would bring you up to speed with me eve adventures.
1/. The game is unhealthy. I havent eaten, slept tideied the house or washed now for 3 weeks... (slight exaggeration but you get the point)
2/. Any resemblance of a life I may have had before buying eve hes now finally disapated and i am resigned to the fact that I am now permanenetly hooked into a CPU at all stages throughtout the day. So be it.
3/. Space is big. So big in its enormity that it has my tiny mind reeeling.
4/. Its better to work as a team - find some like minded individuals and get mining.
5/. Pirates are wimps. Bumped into one in a BS in a 0.2 yesterday, he threatened me and chased me about the system but just coudlnt keep up with me. By the time he got me in range of his missiles, I was jumping to the next sytstem :) Very satifying (although I have to say moderately scary because i was in my first Cruiser (stabber) and had no insurance!)
6/. This is the first MMORPG I have plaied and fully intend to resub to. Planetside, SWG etc didnt cut it. Eve has me in its hooks.
7/. Battlefield Vietnam is out on friday - and you know what? I dont give a damn... ;)

Well, I'm an E&B convert and I like it so far. Only played for a couple of hours so far. I did have a prob tho. I crashed to desktop in the middle of the tutorial and when I came back I had no idea wher I was or what to do next. Is there a way to pick up the tutorial where you left off?
