Edited by: Xalorous on 06/12/2007 16:40:58 The error message is:
Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong.
My firewall is disabled. I am (obviously) able to get online and to eve-online.com. Eve-Mon shows the server is up (25k players). Client shows splash and new (fullscreen!!!) login screen. My last used username is listed in pulldown but not selected. I reentered it and put in my password. Server: Tranquility Status: Unknown
I have NOT upgraded to the premium content yet.

EXACTLY the same here, with one wrinkle. I have Eve on 2 computers and did the upgrade on both of them. I have one account and can play EVE on one computer at a time. On one computer, I did the upgrade to the new graphics and the graphics did not work but I was able to connect and play EVE. The newer computer I have connects to the internet just fine but I have done the premium upgrade and the computer refuses to even recognize that the EVE server is there and I get the SAME error message as you do: Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong. What the Heck ????? Oh yes, and my prefs.ini file does NOT EXIST on this computer.

Edited by: Xalorous on 06/12/2007 17:23:35 The fix for my issue was easy.
- enabled my firewall
- restarted my computer
- told firewall to always allow exefile.exe
BUT, eve voice was enabled (not by me) and locked up my computer upon entry into the game. AND I cannot stay connected long. I only want to change skills today. Will leave serious troubleshooting until the weekend.

I get the same error message. I could connect fine before trinity, now i cant even tracert the server ip. my router is exactly the same as it was before, no software firewall. i changed the prefs.ini file so i could choose the port, but it doesnt seem to do anything with trinity. not using premium content can't play eve... this sucks
