Have the Dust 514 BETA keys went out already? I've been watching for one in my email... or have I missed them? |

I had seen a forum response to someone else in another post that they have indeed went out. I almost pulled the trigger on a console several times in anticipation. I figured a relative noob at consoles would shatter the code like a photon torpedo. Apparently they are sensitive. If they went to ISD bugghunters I would understand. Not so sure if it turns out their pets got them instead. We shall see, |

I dont think they have, they only put a beta 'status' box on the account management page today  You can check there to see if it signed up correctly though, should be an icon on the top left of your account management. |

I don't have this icon. top left you say? is it in a drop down somewhere?
I see Account // Game Time // Services // buddy program // Fanfest
EDIT:
Never mind, I found it. Apparently, this toon did not get signed up properly. But my Main account did, which is the most fine.

The reason: CCP Dropbear et al. have mentioned that MPT/Dust 514 roll out is going to be a sort of narrative event, tied into eves backstory.
From what has been said over the past six months, the closed beta players will be playing out the initial trials of the new technology, i'm guessing as "volunteers" for mordu's legion.
MPT participation will probably be in the form of scheduled games and in game events that will increase in participants and frequency until the mass "breakout" of the technology across new eden (going gold), in summer (Im guessing 14th of May :P).
In short you'll know when Dust MPT starts because within a few days there will be an in game news story about it, probably "Mordu's legion tests new infantry technology" or some junk. Or you'll get a beta code.

I hope they cut loose that story team that was doing vampires. I'm hoping they can do a space storyline as well as vampire subject matter. I'd assumed the stories and game would go along more when I first started EVE instead of Null Sec internal politics driving the game. I'm still hoping. If CCP drives the story, the Big content drivers could still contribute in their response to CCP's lead.
Maybe I watch too much science fiction :) |

the keys have only been released to intrnal testers and pets. its is in the stage of alpha at this point, so closed beta will follow, then open beta. |

My account status page has a "You have signed up!" icon in the top-right corner. Rad.
I'm not sure how I'll endure playing a FPS with a console controller... I should probably borrow a brownshooter or two from a friend and have a go.

EVE is still my main computer game. most others I still stick to my console. It may not be as in-depth or as graphically rich as a PC, but at least I don't have to constantly upgrade my PS3 to handle the newest PS3 game on the market. |
