i can log into the client ok but once it tryed to enter the game i get extreme lag and about 20-30 secs of game play and my entire computer freezes ive looked all over the forums to find a solution and have tryed everything from installing new drivers to making a new Boot.ini but nothing works, im playing it on the classic setting due to the fact my graphics card is terrible, can anyone help?
im running XP home

I've had the same problem since the Trinity patch. Before the patch I had very few lag problems, but now I get 30 sec to 1 minutes lockups when I go through a jump gate or enter and leave a station.
In addition, I get smaller bursts of lag -- between 10 and 20 seconds -- when I use other game functions, occaisionally. Things like opening my character sheet, opening the market have become a real drag for me.
I hope there's a fix, because the game just crossed the line into unplayable for me.

I have the same Problem.
I have a Asus Crosshair Motherboard, 4 GB of Gskill PC2 800mhz Memory, 8800GTX 768mb OC, Athlon64 X2 5000 700 watt Toughpower PSU etc etc this is a High End Boxen.
Before the advanced graphics patch I had dropped from the eve server maybe 15-20 times in FOUR Years Plus.
Now as soon as I activate the advanced graphics option with shadow and Bloom options either on or off, After 5 or 10 minutes my pc totally locks up requiring a hard power off reset.
I updated to the latest drivers, Set anti-aliasing from 16 to 8 AND set it to be controlled by the Eve Client no joy so I turned it off This helped a VERY LITTL bit but it still locks up randomly.
Petition was filed hopefully we can get a update as to what the problem is. i have alot of $$$ invested in my PC and it is a bit frustrating.
Our Knights/GhostFleet are available for small honorable contracts.

I was having the same freezing problems.
Just a few minutes ago I was forced to hard reset my PC because eve locked up and I couldnt close it via the task manager.
When I booted my PC up again I found that my (E:) drive, where EVE was installed had become totally corrupt, in fact the whole partition is messed up and I seem to have lost all the data on the drive.
I blame this new patch!

Try turning your shadows off completely and turn your HDR off in your graphics..
worked for me

I think it's more like your partition went kaput, resulting in your Eve locking up. D=
ZekEdit : and it happens to me anyway, despite the fact that I has HDR and shadows off. D=
On another note, Eve locking up coincided with my old graphic card going kaput.

I tried with or without both and as long as I leave the Premium graphics on it locks up my box.
Considering that I Never had problems until yesterday makes me thing the new graphics engine has a Memory leak or bleed somewhere.
