That being said I have just stayed up til 3 in the morning getting my PC back up and running. My girlfriend is less than pleased that I have lost all of her pictures and music as a result of reinstalling my PC (and its not like she loved eve to begin with) I know this is my fault for not having a backup. I don't want any compensation, I just ask that in future you're a little more careful with your testing. Thanks for the game

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Reinstalled XP, thought I'd download all the drivers off the web. Then had no ethernet drivers, so my cable modem wouldn't work. Spent 2 hours messing abput with network settings. Then found out I had a D: drive. Found motherboard drives on D: drive. Installed the wrong ones and crashed my system. Reinstalled XP. Installed ethernet drivers. COnnected to internet. Came to forums. Mistakes happen.

These replies are getting tiresome, not everyone has the knowledge about PCs that others may have. Some people dont work in IT, they dont spend 6 hours a day maximising their RAM data access speed and they just use their PCs for web surfing and gaming. God forbid anybody just use their machines for recreation. Do you repair your own cars? no? you fail at cars and dont deserve to drive. Do you complete all your own decorating? no? you fail at keeping your house looking nice so you deserve to live in a box. Do you complete all your own building work? no? you fail at owning a house and dont deserve to have one. See how crap your logic is? you completely fill the stereo type of the fat, arrogant nerd who fails at life and is that how you want to portray yourself?. Don't install any more software, and use your browser to find a decent open source undelete program, and try and rescue as much stuff as possible. Dont do too much else, all that disk activity / writing may be overwriting the stuff you can recover. Quick formats don't delete the data, simply earmark the sectors as not in use or free to be written over, in very simple terms. You may be able to recover a great deal. Also next time, google is your friend, a quick search could have saved you. Hopefully you can recover some stuff though, go go go!

Zeonos Amarr Fairtrade Syndicate	Posted - 2007.12.07 03:44:00 - [15] 1. you don't have to format your comp when reinstalling it. 2. have a live cd. like ubuntu linux or that like, laying around. so you can boot, change files, move files you don't want to lose. 3. as poster above says, find a program to recover, even if you did a full format you might still be able to recover lots of your files. 4. partition your harddisk, so you got win on one, and everything else on an other. then you can reinstall and reinstall windows hdd.
