Just posted on tiscali support forums Quote "Hi, I've just had an email from the network team. It would seem the recent problems are are now fixed. They are applying the finnishing touches as we speak. I'm not going to hold my breath, but let me know what happens tonight and over the weekend please. __________________ Regards

Too bad it's not a "Problem" with Tiscali, they're just throttling your bandwidth by blocking EVE after a certain hour. At least that's the impression I've got from posts here and Tiscali's own forums. Fingers crossed. It's certainly better than the usual 'our engineers are looking in to it' repsonse and it's encouraging to see a post that suggests something is actually happening.
Time will tell. Fast aproaching the 'are the ***tards going to do it again and make me loose my drones' time of day.

Tiscali are wanting some feedback on this to see if they have got it right, any chance we can have this temp sticky , so it does not get lost in all the other issues, we have been waiting so long for a result on this problem, Thanks

Making a sticky 'problems with tiscali' topic is a great idea.
There have been many threads about tiscali, some direct and some where people are asking if the eve servers are down because they are not aware that there is a problem with tiscali. Having a tiscali problems sticky topic would keep all complaints/enquiries in one place. (I haven't checked on known issues and workarounds so forgive me if there is a sticky there)
Also, it would be bad publicity for tiscali until they sort the problem out. And if there is one thing that spurs companies in to action, it's bad publicity.

dont you understand it? theres no fix. theres nothing broke.
tiscali thinks its a good idea to throttle your connections to the eve servers, since they think its a good idea and saving bandwith for all their other customers.
unless you just lost connection once and could connect again right away. in that case i havent said anything

I also want the complete Tiscali package as advertised. Why shouldn't I get what I paid for. So I'm making a stand, pushing the point.

Yeah has been ok for a few days now - no problems, until this afternoon - again no Eve - looks like the "throttling" is back...
...not that fussed, got my MAC code a week ago, my new isp will be set up in a few days - bye bye tiscali!!
Amusingly when i requested my MAC code, they asked why i was leaving, as i was a "long term customber >2 years". I told him the problem, and the call centre guy had the nerve to suggest "perhaps try another game?". With that i knew there was no way back! -----------------------------------------

People have left in large numbers, this has been going on for over 12 months nothing changed, so only by actually staying and slugging it out have we got some recognition.
Voting with your feet has been a wasted vote.
It has not hurt their wallets, but getting bad publicity and stopping people going to Tiscali, and highlighting what they do stands a far better chance of finacial loss. Though coming top in a current satisfaction poll does not help.
Besides if you leave them, who knows you were ever there?
