I'm not sure what's going to happen, but to those that are aware you would know that the game is, in fact, in a state of disrepair with ubiquitous amounts of bugs. There are far too many CCP apologetics but this has to be considered one of the most poorly executed patches in MMO history. Where was the CCP QA department or a sufficient beta testing period for Trinity?
At the moment, I don't see any option except for massive server rollbacks and that's assuming that CCP keeps backups.
You have the Boon.ini debauchle, unacceptable on all accounts by itself.
You have people reporting that billions of dollars worth of implants are being destroyed by the use of jump clones. Imagine losing a set of Snakes/Crystal Alphas, because it's happening to a lot of people. How is CCP going to handle the tens of billions of total damages ( lost items ) ? JumpClone (Implant Bug)
You have broken 0.0 mechanics open to exploits. -Cyno Jammers are not working. -POS guns are not working. -Jump Bridges are not working. -POS shields are not recharging. -0 ROF on dreads. 0.0 Completely Vulnerable and Broken Again, corporations and alliances are losing potentially hundreds of billions worth of items and 0.0 sovereignty. What other solution is there except a rollback? For those of you stuck in Empire, it's the equivalent of you losing all of your ships. You had a fully fitted Caldari Navy Raven? Poof. It's gone. That's what these people are going through.
You have a long list of misc. bugs here: Assorted Trinity Bugs
CCP has fumbled the launch of Trinity, and there's no excuse for it. Some of these bugs are overly apparent and far too damaging, and combined with past records of CCP misconduct (i.e. Dev cheating) you get a grim picture. They need to get their **** together and the people responsible for this need to lose their jobs. People should not be paid for incompetence when it's harming your paying customers, us.
On a positive note, at least the game looks good.

Most people are completely ignorant to the problems being encountered. As for the guys in the 0.0 thread, the game-breaking bugs haven't received enough attention because it's only a select amount experiencing them. How many people own POS in 0.0? Not many.
But if the bug where all of your wallet was instantly reduced to 0.0 isk, then you'd hear the outcry. As is both bugs are disastrous, it's just that people aren't aware of the more subtle ones.
People are losing months and months worth of work because an expansion wasn't properly tested.

Edited by: Valan on 07/12/2007 19:03:54 Incorrect I've known CCP do worse patches.
I thought this one was pretty well executed and problem free compared. I'm loving every minute of it :)
Drones are better, my Torps are uber, ECM and agility boost. Nice new ships and man do they look cool and more EVE like than ever with the new textures.
POS and implant bug will be sorted with a hotfix soon. All losses are petionable.
Don't see anything wrong with this patch at all.
BTW seriously not interested if you failed the boot.ini IQ test either.

I seriously hope someone sticks a landmine at your front door. When you step on it, I can mutter something resembling, "you only have yourself to blame for stepping on the damn thing, because you failed the Woolygimp landmine IQ test."
It's CCP's fault that they botched the patch and caused people a ton of problems with the Boon.ini. Nobody else's so stop trying to blame the god damn consumer who had the misfortune of being hit with because they weren't super computer literate.

Honestly dude, if there's a land mine at your front door you should probably be able to figure it out before stepping on it.

Edited by: tyrol on 07/12/2007 19:23:32 Edited by: tyrol on 07/12/2007 19:22:41 it is all a bit concerning for me. most of the people who post in here complaining about the "whiners" are those who have no involvement or interest in 0.0 sovereignty and have no need for clone jumps.
Me personally, im now losing training time due to a loss of implants and a lack of isk to replace them. cant jump back to 0.0 as ill lose the ones there too so im either going to have to take my empire clone up there, or stay put. Then theres the fact i look after poses. i know the time it takes to transport a pos to location and the time it takes to set it up. some people dont understand that. Now all this time spent is being lost, and when you add that to lost training time, then people have a right to whine.
a ccp announcement would be good, but im currently sitting wondering wtf is going on

The problem isn't people being upset they lost stuff, the problem is people not bothering to check for the massive topics about it and instead create 54676523653478 new threads about the same thing and thus hindering discussion for those of us who did not lose stuff or have problems or simply don't care.

Wrong. Most people either A) aren't having problems, or B) realize that this is all a part of patching. It happens. Deal with it. Can't cope? Quit. If it's gonna lose you that much sleep, file a BBB report, or whatever your country's equivalent is.

From your posts I can see why you're struggling with this. Wishing death on someone because of a game lol therapy dude. If the landmine had a big sign on it saying 'do NOT boot this' I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get blown up.
OK perspective time:
0.0 is pretty much screwed but the alliances seem to have held off exploiting it. Yes taking advantage of a known bug is an exploit. So the danger is supressed. So we're basically missing out on pew pew, well POS bashing to be exact.
Implants, I'm losing training time also. If you got caught out they're replaced, so no biggy there. If the hotfix comes in the next couple of days, we'll have missed out by a day of training tops.
I'm not super computer literate, I spotted the posts before the warnings and avoided killing my desktop. My laptop was fubar but I stuck the recovery disk in. By the way I didn't get the disk with the laptop while it was under warranty I pretended to have an issue and got one sent.
I put money on boot.ini being in a Computer for Dummies book. I want good odds on boon.ini not being in it.
Seriously suspend for a month put BS 5 on, when you come back it will all be fixed. It's meant to be fun if it causing you this much distress take a break.

1) boot.ini 2) a WHOLE SET of snake alphas! 3) As far as I know, the war is on hold atm, and there haven't been any battles where POSes have been lost, especially to bug-exploiting dreads... because obviously that would lead to an insta-ban.

I learned it the hard way.
I've played another MMO where the devs messed up a patch and deleted some critical files in C:\... it hit me hard as I didn't have another pc around to check the forums and see how to fix it. I didn't even know it was caused by the game at first.
Since then, I don't rush to patches anymore.... I wait a few hours or wait till next day to start playing. Usually when there's something wrong, it shows up on the forums fast enough.

Check again, people are getting banned because they thought it was "the perfect time to exploit" because of no.1.
Pity they didnt consider that not all GM's were on the boot.ini phone helpdesk... -
