I have always wondered why scientists are referred to as carebears. And I have discovered the reason!!! Scientists have to train so many god damned level fives to be able to get the other science skills! for bloodies sake.. I have to train mechanics level five electronics level five engineering level five and for certain level five science.. Now I am not complaining.. I am only wondering if all this will be worth it. I have invested a time into this science nonsence. and I want to make certain it will pay off..

I'm currently training engineering to level 5, which (especially as I'm amarr) is probably the only one genuinely worth doing anyway. Not looking forward to getting science there though, what an evilly low-use skill that is.
Plus would you want to carry your brand new BP out into 0.0?

now why on earth would I carry a brand new bp into O.O space.. when I can get one in the genisis region.. for almost dirt cheap! ( well as dirt cheap as BP's go!)

Edited by: Pudoris on 12/03/2004 20:51:47 I like the mechanic skill... lvl5 is a must for me... (plz dont judge the rest of the post on that oppinion)
Being a scientist is not being a carebear... it is a certain flair having all those skills others dont have and also if you dont want to spend time training for them all then just dont and do something else that you think is more easy.
edited: sorry did not read your post well enough :) but I guess it comes down to yourself if you think it is worth it... all those skills you mentioned I have at lvl5 and I am not a scientist (excluding science lvl5) they are quality skills that in the end you will have raised up to lvl5 so in my oppinion then yes it is worth it if this is what you want to do.
I think most people that have scientist as their main chars are admirable and those that have them on their second accounts are trying to cover bigger aspects of the game as in their primary account (if that is correct to say) being probably a fighter or something different. By doing that then you can be good at many aspects of the game.

Nah, far from all scientists are carebears, I had my lvl 5 Elect,Eng and mech skills as I needed them (well not the mech) to fit good combat ships.
