Erm.. well I guess everybody is.
But you should really post this in general discussion.

It belongs here. Can you guess why?
Could there be a need to rectify? A skill queue perhaps? A nudge in sp for playing per chance?

I login with an alt now and then to keep the labs running at maximum. Do I get a queue for jobs I'd want to line up past what my skills allow as well?

So when someone uses that phrase with you, hunt them down and pod them if it bothers you so much. _______________________________

Phrase works as intended. No problem here. _______________________________

Well, if it's only ever on to switch skills, no wonder it's broke. You can't make very much money that way, have to at least run some missions or production jobs now and then.

I'm tired of ppl whining about a skill queue. :) -- Talking in Circles is more dizzying than walking in them...

In some instances, IE RL conflicting with EvE life, its essential to be able to just log in to switch skills and say bye. If I cant arrange my skill plan and skill A HAS to finish by 1 am you can bet your bottom ISK that im just going to log on long enough to change the skill then hit the sack.

OMG another skill Q request.
Hey, bud. go play a game that requires you to actually hack and slash for long periods of time to advance your character and then ask for train Q's. Eve doesnt require level grinding witch allows you to just play the game. Its the very reason why alot of people love the game.
Q's are for people that dont want to play the game at all, just start a bunch of characters skill trining for months and never play the game. If your not going to be online for a long time set a long skill., If your going to be on, train short skills. people that log in just to start another skill either can't figure out how to set a long train and/or just anal about losing train time. its their problem not ours.
No Train Q's

I am so tired of the whiners. The phrase is not overpowered and does not need to be nerfed. As pointed out, there are effective counters. Learn to play the game or go back to WoW. ---- I am Super Cool

Don't get me wrong. I love the game. A skill queue will not change the game at all. A way for people to earn sp while logged in won't change the game either.
"o/ just on to change skills."
Wouldn't it be great if you never heard this phrase again?

Edited by: Astria Tiphareth on 09/12/2007 21:58:24 OMG people saying 'Q's are for people that dont want to play the game at all' and 'Learn to play the game or go back to WoW.'!</end-kid-speak>
Sigh, why is it that the moment someone mentions a skill queue someone thinks people don't want to play the game? The two aren't even remotely linked. The issue is quite simply a problem of real life not being convenient in terms of being able to train skills at any point. If it finishes at 3 am in the morning, it's not practical to get up and change it, is it?
EVE made the very commendable decision to not link character progression with time spent online - ask yourself why. It doesn't take a genius to work out that they did it to level the playing field. A skill queue smoothes it out even more by ensuring that those with more time to actually be online can't train more skills more often because of that.
As for losing training time, for those of us new to the game, every little bit counts because the experienced players are and always will be ahead, so every minute lost increases that gap even further.
Or is that the real reason you complain, because you might lose an edge? If it doesn't affect you, then don't waste people's time by posting. If you can explain with decent arguments as to why a skill queue actually hurts the game instead of simply making you look less l33t, then someone might listen.

I think a skill que would be a bad idea. I like the fact that I actually have to login and change the skill, at some points i might get dragged into a conversation or its a really good excuse to check your mail! Not to mention activity, if everyone where training their skills offline, lets face it alot of people would probably show up as "inactive" on their corporate member tracking log. Think ccp also like the fact that you need to log in once in a awhile to change the skill, keeps up activity among other things.
Heres a point... Say if a skill que did come into the game? And for my alt, being the CEO of a corporation, checking the ingame mail is usually a task I do on a regulare basis. So why not have ingame mail imported to your email? Then the new phrase will pop up "just checking mail", and you will probably have the same discussion about mail that your having here. So lets face it, if you got time to plan your skills, you should have time to log on for a second and change it, because after all its an online MMO and nothing else, certainly not an offline game. And thats why EVE is awesome

You do earn SP while logged in. You earn it at the same rate as when you're not logged in. Or do you by chance mean "a way for people to earn more sp while logged in? In that case you're absolutely wrong, as it will significantly change the game. Anything that allows a player to get more powerful through increased time spent in game will create a huge rift between casual and hardcore players, a rift that currently only Eve Online lacks.

You make it sound like I'm asking to change the world here. I just would like to see some changes that would increase enjoyment and decrease the rough areas.
To increase enjoyment? A skill queue.
To decrease the rough areas? Benefit people that play.
Result? No more, "o/ just on to change skills, bye."
