Edited by: Suki Kamir on 08/12/2007 18:48:48 I have outlined all the issues I have come across so far in Trinity, but I have yet to see any official feedback from either CCP or Cedega with regards to these issues. Please have the respect to communicate with your paying customers and let us know what is happening about these problems and a time line for fixes.
You can find my post about the problems here:

I imagine that the CCP guys are either still recovering from Trinity release day or trying desperately to deal with all the bug reports they've had since then... but it would be very nice to see some comment from someone, especially as there are ongoing issues that simply have not been addressed.
Has anyone seen or heard from the TransGaming/Cedega guys who were introduced on these forums when the Linux client first came out?

No I don't, I made this post because we need some communication. The other post was just me gathering all the problems into one place (problems which have all been reported by others and should have had some sort of response/feedback by now).

What sort of feed back do you expect to get? Don't mean to be blunt, but the reality is, CCP has a lot of things to consider for all the platforms they now support. And truthfully, even though I hate Microsoft and in a way, think it's funny, I do admit the boot.ini problem is much more serious and detrimental than the issues revolving around the Linux and Mac releases.
CCP and Transgaming, I'm sure, read your post or are aware of many of the issues you have pointed out. It might make us feel better if they waste time having PR and Marketing officially address each issue, but we would be better off to let them just work on the problems.

It's amazing- you're like a flack for customer service. That's cool.
But effectively telling a paying customer to cool his/her jets is a bit in bad taste.
"Poor CCP has a lot on their plate".... phhht.... Poor CCP has $3,000,000 a month income and something like $45.00 a month from me.
I can get basic cable with internet access for $45.00 a month- and they will send someone to my house to fix the damned thing.
You think a post is too much to ask?
Yeesh.

Updated.
And people please please no flaming in this forum. It is about getting stuff sorted. And the Linux community is supposed to be good for that. I though our arguement was more about if it should play 'La kuka-racha' or 'Dixie' when new mail arrived *grin*.
Sorry for the late replies. I try to check these forums everyday, but missed yesterday as I was rather busy with some emergency testing.

Oh we're very good at flaming too - emacs vs vi anyone?
Also, please note that it's the OSS community that has the rep for fixing things - Linux is just a small part of that. --- I use Gentoo/Linux and Gentoo uses software I write |

O/T
But I do think Wine vs Cegeda shows quite well the OSS development model vs closed source, it also shows how peoples attitude change to what is in effect the same thing depending on the company. I'll happily wait for Wine to 'catch up' and tinker with it. If Cegeda falls flat on it's face (which it does with *** abandon) I'll simply complain and expect a fix with zero involvement from me; it's a commercial product.

Edited by: Tamek Loeb on 14/12/2007 06:35:27 I don't know if CCP's been to the Linux board already (couldn't see anything when I browsed through quickly), but apparently they're rolling out an OS X patch and they might be making an announcement related to it today. The point is: I'm betting they're releasing a joint Cedega / Cider patch, but since I don't work for CCP I can't know for sure if it'll apply to both Cider and Cedega. Just thought you might like some hope for a change.
I wish I'm not mistaken about this, though. See this post by CCP Lingorm for the heads-up. Let's hope I'm right about the patch being for both OS X and Linux.
Edit: oh, and real men use TECO. I've even written the world's only TECO Brainf*ck interpreter

Hello Lingorm. Understand it's the weekend and you are either busy/relaxing away from eve but would be grateful for an ETA on the patch you mentioned?
Also, any update on any progresses made with regards to the issues bug reported: - portraits - random crash - other
Have you/transgaming got enough information to fix them? do you need more bug reports?
