I'm a cashier and apparently the paper the receipts are printed on clog the thing. Cheaper ball point pens seem immune, though. Why do English speakers insist on calling a "ballpoint pen" a... well... "pen" ? Over here in Romania, we have a word for it, and it's "pix". But yeah, pens (true pens, not ballpoint pens) kinda' died out slowly. I personally prefer gel ink ballpoint pens, which are ALMOST like pens (in that you don't need to press them to the paper like regular ballpoint pens), and pencils (the 0.5 mm HB ones, with a soft core). I hate regular ballpoint pens almost as much as I hate old-fashion pens. 1\|2\|3\|4\|5.
