Happens every patch without fail and pretty much every update. You know the score, we're in a better position than the new guys. They specialise and get nerfed, with 65 mill SPs as we have all we do is switch ships. We can fly all the new ships with little effort, we get more out of the subs. We've adapted numerous times struggling on gets easier as you get older. Being Minmatar I'm assuming you're mainly a Minmatar pilot, lets face it you have the good end of the stick.
I know one thing if you did start that account from scratch you're gonna regret deleting it so much you would not believe. I've see so many regret deleting or selling on.

every mmo does the same thing, you wont find any mmo where you don't have to spent a lot of time to improve your skills
EVE does it differently than every other game, sure it has its drawbacks, but it has its bonuses too.
While it means you can't power-game up to 'epic' gear and be the top of the food chain, it gives everyone an equal chance on training the same skills, no matter the amount of time they spend in the game.
but saying EVE's skills system requires you to spend more time than any other game is just wrong. to reach V in every skill in the game will take an ungodly amount of time, but to relate it to your beloved WOW, getting 1 of each class up to 70 or whatever the max level is now-a-days and get all your epic gear that you want, that takes an ungodly amount of time aswell.
EVE allows you to crosstrain between professions, it doesn't lock you in anything.
