Don't train a race based off of which stealth bombery you like - they are ships that require a very particular style of play and its impossible to make money in one - they are cool to have for roaming gangs but no 24/7 ships.

Stealth Bombers are kind of useless, theres always a better ship to pick. That being said, I think they are one of the funnest ships to play, but as the person above me said, not 24/7.

Super fun to play in pvp. Can't rat, can't mission. I'd suggest the normal path of 'leveling': Learning + Support skills, Frigates, small t2 weaponry, cruisers, medium t2 weaponry. From there decide whether BCs or BSs is your ship of choice.

Yes, the damp nerf struck the stealth bombers, but far from as bad as you suggest. They're still fun ships to fly.
A question however, if you cloak and decloak while the missile is in space, will it deal any damage? Or is all lost the moment you cloak?

Nope.
To be more specific.. as long as you are visible and not in warp when the missile impacts you will do damage. Many a time I've warped into a belt to find rats 70km away.. launched 2 salvos of torpedoes (pre nerf) and warped to 100km off a roid behind them so as to land about 10km from the rats. Retarget and launch a 3rd salvo. So long as I am out of warp before the first salvo impacts they will take damage. So it is possible if extremely difficult to launch and warp to another spot and still get damage off the first shot while launching a second or third salvo from another location for some time on target goodness..
Eve Guided missiles.. aren't Eve missiles must be wire guided. Any missile that can't hit once the launcher has been destroyed or recloaked obviously can't even handle LOS targeting.. Eve Missiles have the IQ of a cabbage. ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

So if I understand things right, you can warp and exit warp or cloak and decloak if you've launched unguided missiles and manage to "return" before they hit, however once you warp or cloak with guided - they're screwed?

I respect your opinion mate but completely disagree. Bombers are extremely vulnerable now as they have to get much closer to ships and being paper thin and aligning like a slug in a vat of honey doesn't help.
What makes them more vulnerable is a lot of ships are nano`ed, and well you really do have to get closer. My lock went from 148km to 78km ( -20km warp scram = 58km ), granted, but most nano`ed ships are on top of you now in seconds.
If anyone could rewrite a good bomber setup post Trinity, im all ears :)

In order for this to work (mind you I only have this 1 experience to go on though I've done it a few times with torpedos... havent tried it with cruise missiles)
Decloak.. target and fire 1 or 2 salvos. Warp to another location on the same grid and exit warp before the missiles impact. Once you are out of warp.. retarget and launch another salvo. My experience leads me to believe you do NOT have to have the ship targeted... I've done damage to rats with my first salvo before I have them targeted the second time.
This allowed me to time it correctly to have my first and 3rd salvo's impact virtually simultaneously with my second and 4th salvo's right behind them.
Again.. remember this was in a raven against rats in a belt with a convenient warp point behind them using slow torpedoes. I don't lknow if this would work with "guided" cruise missiles nor do I know if this will work with decloaking, shooting, cloaking, then decloaking before the first impact. Go test it and let us know. ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

My guess is bombers will either have to go with lock speed scripts and be at 30km for a 1 or 2 volley kill and hope they don't see you in time using a passive targeter and you pop them before they have a chance to pop you.
Or
Use range scripts and hope to hell they are afk or autopiloting so your missiles have time to arrive from extreme range. Anything else will probably get you killed. ------------ This is not War... This is pest control - Dalek Sek

The Manticore is my fav ship. I rat in it, and do all but 3 level 3 missions so far.
I also help BSes in level 4s keep the frigs and cruisers off of them.
The trick to the Stealth Bomber is to be part Romulan, part WWII Submarine commander.
Never be in a hurry, and have a lot of skills at level 5.

Basically SBs are fun little ships which are all about uncloaking, firing off a massive alpha for their size, then fading away. In most roles, however, you'll find a better ship if you're playing strictly for effectiveness.

I used to exclusively use a nemesis all the time a few months back, simply because the fun factor involved. With 2 Damps on and 2 sensor boosters you could easily sit at 100km and just spam small gangs with no fear of being caught other then a fast sabre or dictor. Ceptors poise no threat, one damp on them would ruin their range.
Now, things are very much different. Bombers are now being forced to move forward towards tougher targets and that ship just isnt worth the ISK as it can easily climb to 60+ million with nice fittings, 100mill with rigs.
The problem here lies in the fact while damps offered some protection, in terms of time it gave you to get away, the problem now lies in the fact that both factors that made a damp good is now split and less effective meaning you cant really choose to fit or range or lock time, cos you simply dont know what your going to be up against.
Before that didnt matter, 2 damps got a good pilot out of trouble. Bombers as far as I can see now are just expensive shuttles. Truely a great wee ship class rendered pointless in one patch. :(
Out of interest, anyone care to try give a new bomber setup post Trinity?

CCP simply need to make missles hit when cloaked. That's all. It would make the StealthBomber a really funny camp teaser without beeing overpowered.

Actually there is a short window where missiles will do damage after you cloak. Usually from about 30-40km away. It still works pretty well using lock speed scripts in both the sensor boosters and damps. Uncloak, activate modules, cloak as soon as you're able. With good skills and a good pair of ballistic controls you can get two volleys off per fade.

Just like everyone else says, they're hilariously fun to play, but they have little use outside of gangs really. I do like to rat with mine now and then just for fun, but it's not even remotely profitable.
