Edited by: Occara on 09/12/2007 19:32:14 Yeah, they only take 1 second to swap scripts, but you are locked in to a 30 seconds of your current script every time the mod cycles... I think the 30 second time was designed to just allow you to not use as much power, but combined with scripts, it just means that mcuh of the time you have 20-30 seconds of worthless buff when you really need to reload it.
The need reduced to 5-10 seconds and the energy cost reduced as well.

It's better than splitting the item into two seperate items, effectivily eliminating the option of swapping effects in battle or in space alone.

Edited by: Occara on 09/12/2007 19:48:15 yes, but the tracking disrupters have a 10 second recycle time. in the past, that was worse than the tracking computers because it meant you had to re-apply them.
Now though, that 10 second recycle time lets you swap which type of debuff you want 3 times faster than you can with a tracking computer.
The tracking computer took this nerf much harder than the other mods because of this. They have 10 second recycle times for the most part.
I refuse to buy, "it could be worse" as a reason why these necessary mods for a laser ship should be hit harder than the other mods :P

Sorry, I assumed you ment all the modules act this way. I don't use any of them 
It could be an oversite though, maybe CCP will even them out one way or the other in the next patch, they arn't perfect.

good point. they probably just hadn't thought of this. i'd like a 1 sec recycle on everything except things that need a longer one. ecm (not sure what else). i hate it when i deactivate my weber and have to wait 9 seconds to target the next ship. ---

I agree, it does take a bit too long to swap out as a lot can happen in that short amount of time. Maybe in the future we might see some scripts that boost both attributes again somewhere between 25%-50% as opposed to the 100% buff / debuff which is still good for certain situations, just the option to boost both again at a lesser output would be nice too.

Lets just have everything cycle at 1 second and reduce the effect / cap accordingly!
Oh wait; more server calls, lag, lower performance, people whine for more performance in Jita.
On top of that, scripts were designed to lock you into a style of combat, like longrange/slow lock. If a gang comes in with closerange/quick lock scripts, I think it is right that you should be at a serious disadvantage.
As ever, its all about the risk/rewared, benefit/drawback, these are tactical decisions that you need to make. =============================================
