This is quite old news now, however I only just found out yesterday and I was saddened to discover that Andreas Katsulas who most notably played the Nan Ambassdor/Citizen G'kar in the sci-fi show Babylon 5 died at age 59 in feburay 2006. G'kar was my favorite character from B5, he had some of the best lines and some of his scenes made me teary eyed, excellent actor.
I then discovered another actor from Babylon 5 Richard Biggs who played Dr Steven Franklin died in 2004 aged 44, very sad news indeed.
I probably watch the entire B5 seasons 1-5 box sets at least once a year because it was a great show and had an epic story arc.
Looking forward to getting my copy of the new B5 dvd The Lost Tales, youtube it if you haven't already it looks awesome, a tribute to these 2 actors.

Edited by: F''nog on 10/12/2007 06:57:51 Whilst very old news, G'kar was the best character on the whole series. His loss was great to fans of the show, and his own career, as was the good doctor's.

G'Kar was the best character in the show bar none (although Marcus came a close second when it came to quotable lines). The character development rollercoaster he goes through is unmatched in any series as far as I am concerned. And I have a healthy respect for the amount and quality of emotion Katsulas was able to portray through the contact lenses and latex.
"Evolution teaches us that we must fight that which is different in order secure land, food, and mates for ourselves, but we must reach a point when the nobility of intellect asserts itself and says: No. We need not be afraid of those we are different, we can embrace that difference and learn from it."

You guys also aware that Richard Biggs (Dr Stephen Franklin) died back in 2004?
That was a shocker...

Being a bit of a trekkie, I never got into the whole B5 thing, I saw 1 or 2 episodes but it never clicked. So this Christmas I got the boxed set of everything B5. I really want to give it a chance and hope to get the same respect for it that many people seem to have.

Old but sad news.
@MadDog Brown Give the series some time. It starts at a slow pace in the first season, but picks up speed during the second. When you have made it to season 3 you become addicted.

G'Kar was really a well developed character, brilliantly acted. Sad news indeed.
I also want to say don't judge the series by the first season, if you consider it a multi episode pilot you might understand the budget they made it on.

Absolutely. This is very sad news indeed, even if it is quite old. Babylon 5 was the show the first steered me in the direction of Science Fiction, so a good chunk of my existence is owed to it. ---------------- Tarminic - 29 Million SP in pink Forum Warfare |

Very sad news, I had no idea that he had died
It's a pity as both were very good actors who brought so much to the show.
They will be missed by many.
