Hi,
does one get a 15-minute timer if you are attacked once logged off?
Example: Player A is sitting quietly at a safespot minding his own business and decides to log off. Player B, who's been sitting next to him for a couple of hours decides he's going to kill Player A while he is logged off. Player B probes out Player A's ship before it disappears and attacks Player A's ship.
Does this give Player B as much time as he needs to kill the ship or only the remaining minutes of the original log off timer?
And can someone please clarify to me all of the log off timers, from non-combat, PVE and to PVP timers.
Thanks

Originally by: SonlaturIf you are aggressed (so if someone shot at you or activated a module on you) you also warp off but stay in space until your aggro timer runs out. The aggro timer is 15 minutes from the last time you were shot. However i *think* that if you log off with aggro the timer gets reset to 15 minutes.
Also, if you're aggressed and they probe you out, your aggro timer will be reset with each shot fired on you. That is, you cannot just log out and hope your ship will survive for 15 minutes, as if they find it your ship will stay there until it dies (and it will die).
I found this in an old thread. What I'm wondering is if someone logs off and doesn't have an agro timer on him, will he receive an agro timer if he is attacked whilst logged?

Edited by: Tamia Clant on 10/12/2007 11:39:05 If someone shoots you after you logged out, you won't get an aggression timer. (unless you already had a timer when you logged out)
Note that warp scramblers will still work on you, so your ship will vanish after a minute since it can't emergency warp out. You can get killed during this time.

Edited by: Erotic Irony on 10/12/2007 11:41:45 aggressing him before he logs out should give him aggression, I'm not sure about the timing of what you're describing--you mean as you see his portait dissapear from local and his ship begin emergency warp?
I would think he would still get aggro if you can lock him before he becomes immune to targetting, probably safest bet is to smartbomb him to avoid the targetting issues--he'd warp 999km off and you could probe him
as far timers theres the global aggression timer (invisible in 0.0 but not lowsec ) and the faction/corp hostility one
edit: heres the kb article
The PvP timer is split into three 15-minute periods.
Whenever you are engaged in a player vs. player fight, the first timer starts. It is refreshed whenever that anything happens in combat, including when you get fired upon (even if you do not fire back). If you log off within 15 minutes of this timer's activation, the other two will kick into action.
Note that your onscreen timer countdown may not take into account events that cause the timer to get refreshed.
The second timer starts once you log off. Your ship will be warped to a random part of space and will remain there for another 15 minutes. Note that if the enemy has warp scrambling abilities, he can keep you in place for those 15 minutes and fire at you all the while. The phrase "sitting duck" comes to mind.
If your ship gets destroyed, the third and last 15 minute timer will start. This time, it's your pod that does the emergency warp and remains in space for the duration of the timer. ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Ok, thanks for the answers. I've read the KB article on PVP log off timers but what I'm trying to describe is if someone logs off, and you probe him out and attack him before he disappears, will he get an agro timer of 15 minutes.
Why I think this is possible is because of the way CYVOK's titan was destroyed. IIRC he logged out without an agro-timer, someone attacked him at the 999km safespot away from the POS he was hiding at, and thus he got the agro timer which lead to his destruction.

The answer is no, he won't.
CYVOK's titan is a whole different mess, I'm not sure what really happened there, but I guess he logged off with an aggression timer still active.

There is also the situation where someone logs off as they jump into a system, without any timer. Their ship will appear after the 30 sec cloak timer and you have another 30 secs to kill the ship before it disappears. Because they are logged off by the time their ship appears no timers are created against them. ------

Whilst those above are theoretically correct- don't trust the system to work properly.
My Ishtar was recently scanned and killed (and my character podded) a full 30 minutes after my last aggro- and a good ten minutes after I had logged. An old corpmate also lost his vagabond to being probed nearly 30 minutes after having logged off, theoretically with no aggro...

I killed a hauler today that logged out. I scanned him about 3-4 mins after he logged out. He did not have agression and I was in the system for 2 hours before that.
Pre-Trinity this guy would have vanished in 1 minute. If he had aggression it would have been 15 minutes.
There is definitely something wrong or CCP changed the timers.

someone mentioned sec hits being broken as well, could be related--hell pos mechanics are fubar too so perhaps the problem is much deeper ___ Eve Players are not very smart. Support Killmail Overhaul

Not 100% certain exactly what this is supposed to mean though.
Probably means you can lock and scram those buggers but will they still disappear after the 60 seconds ?
