Subject pretty much says it all. What ship should I get with what modules has a tank so strong that it could surely survive nearly any high sec pirate gate camp? Basicly what I am looking for is something that can transport cargo such as researched BPO's and t2 components "safely".

I think that a secure can or two can do the job, as most hisec gankers use passive targeters with cargo scanners to check before attacking. Also, never relying on autopilot, flying an industrial optimized for agility and some luck are required.

Hardly, I want something that when im charging up for warp to the next gate that if I get scanned my tank would be strong enough that it could easyly survive.
I recall eve-tv doing something on an amarr BS in that its tank was awsome but at the expense that it had no offensive capabilities what so ever. Thats what im looking for.

Geddon with 5 1800 plates, 2 EANM, one DMU, 7 mega pulses or smart bombs, dual web cap booster and x3 trimark rigs
you can do the same in any BS just get lots of hp. you will be really slow and you will hate hauling that way but it will keep your cargo safe until concord comes unless you are at war in that case use covert op.

Thank you Biced. Speed isnt really my concern when transporting bp's, rather deliever the cargo and take several hours instead of arriving in a pod.

Edited by: Yoinx on 10/12/2007 16:49:20 You're just trying to survive high-sec suicide ganks right?
I'd guess a passive tanked drake would be a safe bet. Might cost a bit to setup though. I've found this setup gets you a pretty good tank if you're not looking to attack anything. I cant get you the exact numbers right now, as I'm at work. You could try it in EFT though. I really dont see you getting poppe dby a suicide gank with this setup though. It just depends how much you're willing to spend.

Uber tanked Abaddon.
mids filled with shield extenders and invulns.
Lows with plates, hardeners and a DCU.
Trimarks.
And you're good to go against all but the most persistant attacked (ie if you're really unlucky, you could still die).

You are welcome. I have noted the covert op option as well and a passive drake will be better but needs good shield tanking skills.

fly a t1 hauler. If someone attacks you in hi-sec concord will protect your. you are safe! I can also offer escort services in my remote repping domi for free if you like?

Hm. Let me guess, your "escort Domi" is T1 fitted, has a web and scram, cargo scanner, and is platinum insured, right?
As to the OP-if you're AFK, I'd go for an uber-tanked Abaddon, if you're at your keyboard, cov ops with cov ops cloak, MWD, and istabs/nanos in the lows.

Shuttle is actually excellent for transporting BPs if you're not afk, you're basically uncatchable.
Alternatively, a nanoed inty would work just as well.

the most secure way would be a covops as it's practically untargetable when you cloak before you warp. Any fast aligning frig or even a shuttle could do so as well tho.

Basically you have three strategies:
1. Tank - Pack on so many effective HPs that what they would have to spend in gank ships is far more than your cargo. Plated BSs would work best here. 2. Speed - Use a ship where you'd align and warp before they could scan let alone scramble you. A shuttle actually works well here, as does any i-stab mounted frig. 3. Camo - Use a ship that they'd probably not bother scanning when other ships are passing by. Blackbird, an AF, or a logistics ship would be examples here.
If it's just BPOs, the inty is one of the best options because it's the best at option 2 (fit a WCS and i-stab) and also works for option 3 (they know you'll warp out before they finish the scan). As long as you are not AFKing, it's about as safe as you get.
Any tank option has risk. If you take too long to align, they can pile on unlimited DPS/alpha if they get a point on you. Really, you should only look at that option if you're looking at AFK hauling. It all depends on your cargo value and volume and where you think you're going to get ganked. Option 3 works better on the higher traffic routes (like Jita->Amarr) where there are lots of camps but lots of traffic. They aren't going to bother with a breacher for example when they have 3 freighters, 2 haulers and 5 BS at the gate at the same time you are.
