After a while when starting a 2nd account the whole PC slows down like hell.
Only thing to fix it, is close every client running, wait for the Error message asking if you want to send a bug report to MS.
gets anyoing... really anoying
Thx in advance
Edit: i¦m not having the premium stuff running when playing with 2 accounts.

Works pretty well for me:
C2D E6400 @ 2.5GHz 2Gb DDR800 7900GS stock
If it start a 3rd client, it starts getting pretty laggy.

I had exactly the same problem with 2 non premium clients.
I cleared the cache out, then tried running both clients in fullscreen mode - that fixed it for me.
Although I've no idea which of these 2 actions was the one that worked!

well not had that problem yet running 2 accounts on the same machine ... tried with 2 classic , 2 premium , 1 classic and 1 premium , and not had a problem yet - though I've not hit it hard.

Er, whats your setup?
I can run 4 accounts hardly a slow down with 2 GB, dualcore pentium and 2 256MB GF7800 nVidia cards.

Instead of wasting your money on another account, waste it on another computer.
Or you could go to the bar, maybe find a partner to settle down with, have children, goto Disneyland, etc.

Running in windowed mode always murdered my performance. I just run both accts. fullscreen and alt-tab my life away.
With Trinity, I followed the devs recommendations for shading level and cache size. Things seem to work pretty well, and my computer is 4 years old. (but new graphics card and 2gb ram)

Eve uses to much memory (HOW TO FIX)
Both clients are set to LOW.
Setup: Athlon64 x2 3800+ Gefore 8600Gt 2Gb ram
Should run pretty smooth (and it does until the "error", "bug", "whatever you want to call it" apears), At least it had before trinity was deployed.
Edit: will try what tanis. said, next.

Have you tried changing the cache size to "off"? ____________________________ I break things.

Might be worth: -setting Eve to higher priority -assigning each copy of eve to a seperate core, or both eves to one core and all other processes to another (not sure how to do this) -check what other programs and processes are running in the background and close unneeded stuff -yeah check out that memory thing that the other guy mentioned

Only "fix" that you can count on is either Upgrade or buy a better computer.. As time goes on the Eve program is not going to get any smaller use more memory and the list goes on from there..

I'm having similar problems. When premium content is turned on it's almost impossible to run two eve clients, i'm lucky if i get 1 fps. So i'm stuck with the old classic content.
i have an athlon64 4600+ dual core cpu with 2gb ram and a gforce 6800 gfx card.
another thing i've noticed is that when premium content is on and you fly around for a while and then dock sometimes you get really low frame rate, maybe 1-2 fps while in station. when this happens the low frame rate stays until the client have been restarted. and this is with just one client.
i submitted a bug report about this but that was quickly closed as not reproducible. the problem is that it only shows up sometimes and i'm not sure whats causing it.

Edited by: Plutoinum on 10/12/2007 16:34:42 Don't have that problem. Actually was logged in with 3 accounts with the premium content at the same time once to check something and was surprised that I got decent FPS at least in station. So yes, like already said, if it slows down over time the cache is filling up, not enough physical memory as a consequence and then the harddisk probably starts to rattle like mad due to swapping stuff in and out and the client cache kills performance instead of improving it. Reduce cache size in the setup, like others said.

cache size set to normal running in window mode 2 clients on premium content with all other settings turned up full and its faster and smoother than the old classic eve was pre-patch with a single client.
for those running premium content and complaining they can no longer run 2 clients at once.
ffs go buy a good pc instead of trying to run it on a 386.

ask your Gf. maybe i should have choosen "G-strings" or something like that
However.
It¦s not about the game beeing unplayable. or so. The FPS is ok on both clients something like 45 to 50 each.
It just apears when logging of / getting disconnected with one account. and relogging it then. Also it happens not everytime. It¦s more or less spontaneous. sometimes it happens after the first relog. sometimes after the third. sometimes nothing happens.
I can happily jump arround on both clients once they are logged in. Mine here, trade there.
Also i don¦t think it¦s a "memory leak" or so. last time i checked in taskmanager when this happened, both clients only used 60mb ram or so.
made what tanis. said. and it "seems" to have it fixed. (juts tryed a few logons / offs)
It¦s just wiered. cause everything is fine once the accounts are logged in..
