Here I go again.
This is not a quitting post per se (moderators...), this is in fact a forced retirement.
A week has now gone by since my Gold Visa credit card did not renew my account. Since May 6th 2003 I've had no problems but according to a GM this is a known problem with icelandic credit cards that has recently reared it's ugly head in CCP's billing system.
Only solution is to get the billing department to manually enter the details. So my mail was forwarded to the billing department.
A week has gone by and my initial mail and 2 follow-up mails have not been answered neither by GM's nor the billing department.
Since my account is offline no one can have my stuff (minus scorp, plus dominix), and that includes me!
Using this "buddy account" I posted a plea for help 2 days ago, giving CCP 48 hours to assist me in giving them my money. Orestes said he'd bring the topic to the GM's and still nothing has happened.
Tomorrow this buddy account expires, since my credit card is not valid I can't even renew it should I want to.
I've decided to take this as a sign and quit EVE in order to finish my B.Sc. degree before my 29th birthday this summer.
It's been fun times, sad times, intensive times and dull times. After the sentry gun changes meant my pirate hunting days were practically over I was going to become an EVE movie director to allow my creativity to go wild.
Since I could fly all ships but the interceptors I wanted to make a movie dedicated to each ship, highlighting it's abilities, be it a Velator, Iteron Mark I or Scorpion.
Instead I will have to leave with two poorish attempts at making decent movies.
The Movies
My reminiscence movie should have been grander but it was not to be. Time constraint means I have to release it now, far from being the movie I wanted it to be but it is very personal. The lyrics and the visuals should match nicely most of the times. This is not an action flick.
It features just a few highlights and amusing moments out of many (mostly ones I had any footage at all from) and the dramatized death of two Velators signifying my 2 retirements.
My drone movie is also there in version 2, again time constraint preventing me from finishing it. My first real attempt at a movie.
The goodbye
I could list the names of my friends, my corporation mates, my fun opponents and go on and on for a good while for I believe I've made several friends in character and perhaps even earned the respect of them and others.
But that would be a long list to give "thank you" to. Those that think they should be on the list most probably are, my memory is in fair shape and I still remember the people from beta.
So a big THANK YOU to you all, including the GMs, the Polaris, the Devs and the very latest new player who is now starting in his Velator to seek fame and fortune.
I think found a bit of both in this game.
I bid you farewell and GOOD TIMES.

To be honest I'm amazed that CCP haven't helped this guy out... Surely they WANT people to pay and here is a guy who WANTED to pay but cant because of a problem at CCP's end.
To say I'm gobsmacked is an understatement.

Riddari, don't go. Other people are having this problem as well (a corpmate of mine did, and it has been resolved). I'm sure a fix is just around the corner.
It would be awful to see you go like that. Really it would.

Nah, I like ya, and I'll miss ya ugly face while we have whipped cream fights in La Maison. Enjoy your studies, and hopefully CCP can sort this problem and get you back in game once you have a that stupid piece of paper hanging on the wall.
