Well, I do feel that EVE is still in beta, so I'm not really 'playing' it. I feel that someday, mabye a year from now EVE will be a balanced, playable game. I AM however, training skills in the meantime. __________

Life was so much more fun when it was possible to roleplay pirating properly.
Im getting bored of eve cause i cant play it as much as i used to....when i started I could play all day long (and nearly all night too) but now, during the week I can barely get 10hrs of play which sucks for me. Thats the reason I want my ss back, as I can do fun stuff in empire in a short time, but 0.0 takes a lot longer to get fun organised as we are left to our own devices. I did have loads of fun in Aurohunen blasting people going to Korama, Isuppose if they do not fix ss soon, I might as well go back to that. All im doing now is traing all those damm long skills and waiting for something to happen, I dont know what I want to happen, but I still want it really badly

Insert some actual roleplaying, not some fairy Shakespeare but acting like you would if you'd been your character and seek out a corporation that encourage this. All this smacktalk and whimsical PvP without any real effort on diplomacy, negotiations what have you is what bores me.
Peoples lack of gradual response, like if some old lady cut in front of you you'd beat her down on the spot and jump on her head before realizing it was an old lady cutting in on the sidewalk due to poor vision and/or a feeling of having earned a right of way and not a shark beaching itself and taking the train to where you live to assault you, 'cause that instinct is set on dun-dun-dun-dun-dun sharkmode!
That's not CCPs fault, that's not due to some mechanism, that's players under the impression that they need to jump everyone they can or they'll never get to kill anyone and as such blow everything up to ELE proportions.
Sure now everyone will chuckle and say well I'm this demented serial killer, interesting, you and 30% of the other pilots, real creative...
Still waiting for my sleeping and disgusted smiley. If he can be both at the same time it'd be super.
Also changing corporations is too easy, people tend to go for the greener grass on a weekly basis not 'cause they need grass, it's just green, this grass is lime, that's so last week...
In short what bores me is people not taking the time and making an effort to create a character who has a past and a future and work in line with the script towards that, believability if you will.
Much like a Tarantino movie the outrageous psycho was funny the first few times, by the time of Dusk till Dawn they were just sleepinducing, predictable and disgusting.

For a while I was thinking of quitting due to boredom (I've been here since beta 6), but then I started rp'ing more. I'd say close to 70% of my time is now spent sitting in station chatting with people
I ilso found that taking a few days off from eve helps the addiction grow a bit more, and you come back with a vengeance. ----------- "Remember people: Omber is the biggest evil ever created, DO NOT let it get to you!" Waagaa Ktlehr, BDCI

Yeah, I've cancelled my account for the second time. Last time I got bored out of my skull so I came back, this time I have a Crono Trigger ROM and my copy of Final Fantasy III/VI to keep me company. Unfortunately the game has been moving more and more towards combat as the central focus(read only focus). I'm just not up to the amount of micromanagment required to just fight NPC's, much less PvP. I guess I'll go sacrifice a calf to the alter of Blizzard in the hopes that they might bless me with a WoW beta account.

ya ive gotten a bit bored with this game. but my account is still going, ive got about 11mil sp now. at about the time my first corp died out and merged with another, i lost interest and then another MMO came along, and ive been playing that since. ill come back to EVE someday and play it for more than just an hour every 2 weeks or so. but until then, my char is pretty much hibernating.

Then again we all get bored with any game sooner or later. I bought this game when it hit the stores and a few months after that I got bored and quit the game (kept the account though). A few weeks later I was back. I guess we all have low points when we hardly play or don't play at all. But as long as CCP is steadily improving the game I'll keep getting back.

That is exactly my feeling as well. I started playing te game in a way that I knew was not going to be the most profitable. But I went on taking misions, flying somewhere just to have a look around. I just wanted to play this "Han Solo" type freelancer/smugler/adveturer. I had no doubt that people would take my cargo/money or even my ship. I might even get killed. But that's the adventure. As it went, I flew to a gate and my ship got blown up and my pod for no reason whatsoever no comunication. Just another player with more firepower who was bored. That kind of spoiled the fun for me.Also because the worst thing in a soap is for dead people to come alive. I don't use cloning, once dead stay dead or else what's the use of death and why fear it? The worsed story telling has dead people come to live. It's a mistake that started at least 2000 years ago as far as I can tell. And it even did the lord of the rings no favour.
I sugested on this board that it might be agood idea to have another server. one for people who want to play the game to the hilt of the rules and kill all others. And one who were more interested in roleplaying where combat flows from the way the roles are played. I got some serious abuse, but I still think that's a good idea. From what I hear everquest had some succes with that concept.

in the begining when alliances started to form it was more interesting. now its just sad. why dont we just say hey where al at war with each other now we can go out in 0.0 and blow each other up.
thats eve content for ya
qouting my self but thats whats making me bored.. even jericho is starting to be like everyone els.. i never saw that day comming.. generaly this is turning out into a fps with ships and ehh skill training
i mean do it even excist a corp thats not shootig people just because they can and aint bothering to remotly have a reason for something.

I predict I'll leave as soon as I get my hands on WoW.
EVE seriously lacks content. Planets don't even have names and populations, they are [system] VII - (ice) a.s.o.
Even so EVE have some quality that I like, that's why I'm back after a leave of 8 months. And to my surprice nothing much have actually changed in that time.
A real questing system would change a lot. I.e. 500-1000 individual uniqe quests, not just fetch [X] and leave it at [X].

Edited by: Tos' Lavoch on 12/03/2004 13:22:03 I've played EVE since may last year and have had my up's and downs. I've never been bored with the game but I do find I have to take time away every now and again to keep it interesting.
More than anything I hate the waiting, I know developemtns take time and I'm not expecting then to rush things. But I as a person just hate to wait. Eve really needs a constant supply of changes to keep the universe alive and kicking.
I for one would volunter some of my time to take the part of a NPC character and role play for a while. Some of the stories and news articles posted sound cool but would be eve en better if theywere in the game too.

Edited by: Soul Reaver on 12/03/2004 13:33:53 These posts make me laugh (a Lot)
Human beings get bored with everything (Even Great Sex) if they have to much of it :) This is why we do drugs! To get out of it! A boring normal reality. I am amazed that people expect a game to keep them entertained for months on end! How so unrealistic in the extreme.
SO here are Souls Boredom suggestions
1. Take a break then come back refreshed. 2. Get out more. 3. Get a life and some friends. 4. Read Philoshophy. 5. Buy a 550 maranello and do 196 mph down the A1 in it (I did) muhahahah got bored with it though to be honest :( 6. Be more realistic about your expectations. 7. Read Viz (see link on my sig) 8. Get some amazing underpants 9. Or some unfeasibly large T3st1cles
Be you a Pirate or a Simple Alt creeper! Sooner or later you'll dance with Soul Reaver and His Amazing Underpants

While EVE can be entertaining I will admit that I am only here still because WoW is not out and because there are no other games I care to invest time in.
Once WoW is out I will leave, eve if it means I might have to say bye to some quality personalties.
EVE seems to be a game where players are supposed to make their own content, alliances, wars, trade wars etc. But the tools to do so is not really there. The corporation is at the heart of EVe yet its funtionality is not really anything to write home about.
I know the devs say "Shiva" but they also said "Castor" and I can imagine we will hear "whatevah" when Shiva is out.
For now I stay, but my hearth and future is intended for WoW. -------------------------

Only played Eve for two months, and already I am realising it's not really what I expected when I signed up. I like pvp with purpose, I used to RPpvp on Ultima and found that fulfilling for a time, but Eve's pvp seems very dull by comparison, not to mention almost unplayable.
Haven't logged in for over a week now, and don't feel any inclination to either. Shame because Eve promises so much but delivers so little...

Now I don't feel so alone anymore and that gives me the curage to make a new way in this actualy quite lovely universe.

IMHO EVE is the best game that has hit the shelves but to be honest it gets a bit repeative when you powerplay it from the start of the game, powerplayed everything in the game except agent missions wich I fear I might do next.
But I will hang in there for few more months until this summer and then leave since i am going on a several month trip. Spawn of the Devil

Do I get bored. Yes.
And even mad sometimes ? Yes
Love the game ? Yes.
I just get mad when they say here is stuff for tech level 2 and there is none to be found. Or now I have to train new skill for something for another month for something I cannot get. I see the items in the markets, But cannot buy. I see stuff that I would like to try, But cannot afford. I see Arkonor and cannot mine... {CA has is all} So some of the stuff that is in-game I cannot access. So I get bored. If Tech II is here. GIVE USE ALL THE TECH II stuff. No just give to CA or big corps. Moms and Pops need things too.
Just my thoughts.

Currently bored like hell, and playing a variety of games as a break. Homeworld 2, X2 The Threat, Lock On and IL2 Sturmovik-Forgotten Battles-AEP are all very nice, even though my RTS skills and piloting skills are pure crap. But I'm due for a burnout anyway, and I need a break and a change of direction in my EVE playing.
I play Homeworld 2 because in this game, you actually have fleet battles where everything from the smallest ship to the biggest are all equally important. This is one of the most balanced games I've seen for a while. I do the flight sims because I dream of flying (that's why I'm playing space ship games in the first place) and for a change, I like to really "fly" something rather than point and click with a mouse.
Battles in IL2 makes Star Wars look crap.
