I need some advice here, I found a 5/10 drone plex, but all I have to use are gallente drone boats ships to run it, and I'm not sure, but do drones aggro entire Rouge Drone rooms in drone plex's?
Well, here's what I have planned, I'm going to take an Ishtar with remote rep support from an Oneiros, with a bustard hanging out to scoop the loot.
1st is the setup of the ishtar:
High Slot:
1x Tractor Beam
2x Salvager
2x 150 Rails to take aggro to HOPEFULLY lure some of the drones closer so I can let the ogre's kill them safely
Mid Slot:
AB t2
4x Cap Recharger 2's
Low Slot:
2x Med Armor Reps t2's
2x EANM T2's
1x Exp Hardner t2
Drones:
Ogre t2's
*Typical Perma-tank setup, should be fine but it's been a while sense I ran a 5/10 drone plex.
Oneiros:
Highs:
4x Arup Remote Medium Armor Rep (not paying 5m for 'solace' or 7m for t2, that's per rep)
Meds:
1x AB T2
2x Large Cap Batt T2
1x cap Recharger t2
Low:
1x Med Armor rep (just incase)
2x EANM T2
1x Cap Power Relay T2
Drones:
Hammerhead t2 (only to help out the ishtar to kill the final boss)
EFT says the setup should perma-run, so far EFT has never failed me in terms of calculating cap usage
Any thoughts? advice? Opinions?

I'm 99.99% sure if the ishtar aggro's entire room and gets remote repped quick enough, you can do that 5/10 easy.
Drop a med rep on the ishtar for a plate though. that will let you absorb enough damage to get full room aggro for your oneiros to get reps on you and tank you up.

back when they were still static complexs it was easy to Solo all but the mother with a Domi with no support. Just bring in a t2 hauler for all the goodies.
neem a long time ago that we did one so dont remember the fix but mostly t2 stuff with t2 heavy drones.

Thanks guys! Great advice, Helen.
Turns out the combo of the ishtar and oneiros make a great team. Combat drone AI seems to have improved dramatically sense the Trinity patch, they tend to all pick the same target and attack it at once, instead of randomly going about the room picking their own individual targets. So once the ishtar alt acquired, it's just a matter of letting the drones loose and they pretty much do handle the task of negotiating targets themselves quite well, while the oneiros can concentrate on keeping the ishtar alive. Only one thing I noticed that I had to watch out for was that once the Rouge drones where aggro'ed for about 20-30min they lost interest in the ishtar and tried to kill my the combat drones.
Hope this helps out anyone else that finds themselves in the same dilemma.

I was trying to do a 5/10 drone plex last night in a Myrmidon (3 heavy drones and blasters) but couldn't break the BS tank in the second room.
Do I stand any chance of clearing the site solo or am I wasting my time?

Some time (when they were still statically located) ago I was part of a team of 3 trying to do the done 5/10 complex (in my domi, although only t1 drones) with a curse and some other battleship, and we dint have enough firepower to kill the final boss. Was somewhat disapointing.

That was the feeling I was getting last night when I gave up. Shields went down after a long fight then was barely scratching the armour before it got repaired. Gues this has saved me trying a different strategy if I can't break through the 2nd room. Thanks (and apologies for hijacking)

Not really, you're going to need at least 5 heavy's of the EM or Thermal persuasion, we used (me and my alts) 5 Ogre 2 and 5 Hammerhead 2's with all support skills to at least 4. One thing you need to watch out for is not to get to close (about 50km), not sure if it will do the same thing as it did when it was a static plex, but the Lesser Strain Mother used to actually suck your armor or shield and take take it as her own (kinda like a nos for shields and armor) when you got within that range.

Not so much suck your armor/shields but they have a activation range whereby when you close in they switch to ubertank mode.

did u scan it out or is it a static plex? sounds fun as hell why not take a bs for tanking?

If one get closer than 50km the Lesser Strain Mother start to rep her armour. So stay 50km+ from her at all times and she's a easy kill. My Abbadon kill her in 8 min solo with T2 Megabeams  |
