I've come back recently and was going to start working level 2 missions for awhile. I decided to play around a bit and bought a wolf for them. Now I think I should have done a lot more reading, because I am not impressed with the wolf's capabilities. Just as a test, I left the station with my AB and repairer running and watched the capacitor quickly drain away.
Meanwhile, I've compared the resists on the wolf and the jag, and now realize that shield-tanking the jag is favorable to armor-tanking the wolf simply due to the distribution of resists, unless my missions are all against laser ships.
So now that I have this in perspective, it looks like I could buy a cruiser (I can actually pick Amarr or Minmatar cruisers) for cheaper and get better bang for the buck.
Can anybody give me a good AF setup for missions? I'm hoping I'm missing something.

I haven't played with either in a few months, but one of my favorite fittings was to add a med t2 shield extender to the jag. The nice resist suddenly becomes a very good passive shield tank.

For level two missions in my Wolf, I usually run:
High:
4 - 150mm Auto IIs with Barrage S
1 - Whatever I want, usually some sort of Nos or rocket launcher.
Medium:
1 - 1MN AB II
1 - Webber II
Low:
1 - Small Repper II
The rest of the lows are usually mixed to take on whatever I'm exploding. If there's lots of ships, usually passive armor and a Gyro II. For a few ships, 2 Gyro IIs and some sort of speed enchancement.
As for the cap drain, set your active modules in the lows on manual. I only need the AB to get in range faster. The repper is just there to let me fight a bit longer.
