Edited by: Kale Palodo on 11/12/2007 23:55:12 Not sure if anyone else has had a problem like this but any suggestions would be great. I run 2 clients at once in Windowed mode. One is my miner the other my hauler. It works well for me. I have tried to make a haul using both accounts and have run into some major memory problems. I have not had to use both accounts to haul in the past since I didn't really make enough minerals in one session. Now that I have a hulk I need both accounts to haul. SO I set my destination on both and let auto pilot do its thing.
After about 2 jumps my page file jumps from about 1.5-2gb to about 4 and maxes out my memory. Computer is a complete slide show. Now when I can wrangle one of the ships into dock and kill the client I get a memory error, sorry didn't write it down. The page file drops a bit and then I kill the 2nd client. No error. Page file now drops down to about 2 gb. but does not go down any further until I boot the box. Normally, and before starting the eve clients, it runs about about 1gb. So what the heck is going on?
Here is a few things I am going to try: 1. get rid of the premium content on both accounts to see if that will do it. 2. maybe the directory structure needs to change so both clients are not drawing on the same resources? any suggestions on how to set that up?
my computer is ok. 3.4 HT, 3 gb ram, 6800 nvidia vid card. Never had any troubles in the past with both accounts running. but I never traveled with both accounts. they always stayed in system with each other or one would jump out.
Any thoughts would be great. be nice to relocate or haul some quanity without having to use one account at a time.
Thanks Kale

Turns out I had one client with the premium content enable and one without. so I disabled the one that had it enabled. no problem. So something in the graphics patch is killing my page file. not sure what.

There is a memory leak. Open client , hit escape , in 1 of the tabs for settings there is a catch settings, set to 0

it is odd though. in the task manager it does not show the eve exe files using much memory. Really weird. I think I will refrain from using the pretties while I am running both clients. better FPS without it.

eve seems to use its own cache file, it fills up slowly...
my computer has a c: drive withj 10g and 4g free all the time, it runs so full now that it wants to clean the disk because there is 100mB free....
Great, dont use the windows page file on the other disk or my 2Gb of ram....

Edited by: Tzahrkiya on 18/12/2007 02:59:06 Theres actually a simple fix to increase fps while running 2 clients at once,, i personally dont but i know a man who does who experienced very diminished rates when running 2 clients,,,
basically to increase the frame rate was down to both clients using the same cache folder...
if u make each client use its on cache folder you should see a decent increase in fps across both clients
:) hope this helps..
PS. I might also add to a further note i was experiencing immense problems coming out of eve from low virtual memory and basically as if the system was just bagged up with all the info from the premium content,, ive set my cache to off and those memory faults are now gone,, i can play for hours and hours and the system will not be in any way slow when i exit eve....
