I'm a newbie and didn't read all these posts and won't come back to read replies...but why not just have all modules be the same size as their respective mineral refining? Although I also think there should be waste from making a module and then refining it as this happens in all such processes.

Simple. Because some modules wouldn't fit ANYWHERE and could not be transported period. Others would be so big that would require Iterons V to transport each single unit. Among other things that would make looting impossible and cripple trading throughout the game.
The forced expansion they did, already made some of these things to happen. And it was not even close to be a 1:1 volume.

CCP, for God's sake, admit you screwed up in this one. Rollback, and forget about it. You tried to fix something that did not need fixing and by doing this you made everybody's life more miserable.
I can't see anyone who was positively affected by this change and even if there are case the cases where the opposite happens far outnumber them. You didn't stop and CANNOT stop mineral compression withotu completely reworking your game economy, you just created a lot of unecessary work, discontentment and load for yoru servers.
I've got to quote this, I agree. CCP left the biggest mineral compression mods in the game, and somehow nerfed one of the most popular ways to get isk. Now people that have hoarded T1 mod bpcs aren't complaining sure, but you're creating load for the servers, reducing the amount of mins, inflating the price of everything, nerfing the ratting profession, discouraging manufacturing in 0.0, and creating a whole lot of huge isk sinks.
Now some of those are most notable things to do. Some are uneeded. Some are horrible. When you release the first patch to fix all the new bugs you introduced, fix this as well please, won't take much work at all. Mineral compression really isn't that big of a deal with T1 ship mods. If it is in fact a big deal, it's not because someone is making millions of medium pulse lasers. -----------

Edited by: Steini OFSI on 13/12/2007 21:37:47 I never loot when I rat unless it's faction or officer...
Edit: Besides, minerals are supposed to be the miners job, not the rat/looter->refine, modules on market should be seeded by production rather than loot.
