Choosing a minmatar character and having a bit of inclination towards RP can be a problem.
The joy and pride of vaporizing slave pens is replaced by the realization that nothing can be done with any caught slaves.
The proud minmatar abolitionist ends up with a load of slaves in his hangar in hope that he will be able to free them some day. In the meanwhile, there isn't much to tell him apart from a true slave trader!
Before LP stores there was an offer for trading slaves where you basically traded an amount of slaves for trained profession freemen. Even that hard to get offer is gone now.
So, low priority and flavor as this might be...Please, consider a right click option for freeing your slaves.
If we talk more than flavor, mechanics might ensue. Freeing slaves must cost isk as the patron provides for their setup as freemen (i.e. this is proper freedom or there would be no point in even taking the risk of bringing them back to base). In the end, im sure that would gain you a minute standing with the republic. |

I actually think that'd be pretty cool. I got a station container with a bunch of all sorts of space denizens (not full, mind you!), but nothing I can do with'm.

Put all of them in a can with the following ratio: 3 Exotic dancer for each Slave, 5 Wine per slave.. I really doubt you can do something more to make them happy.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough |

It should cost nothing to free slaves where slavery is illegal!
You can still use the 'trash it' button to make as if you freed them, even if it is not looking like freeing them... -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

Well, yea. I got LOADS of them but problem are the slave ones! Thus the minmatar character having a bit of inclination towards RP problem.

Freeing slaves isn't just opening the door for them. What are these free slaves who know nothing but hard labor gonna do? They will probably be put back into slavery when they get their next job opportunity. So the cheap "lets correct some wrongs in the universe" initiative is sort of pointless. Freeing from slavery means reeducation and teaching them a job. That costs isk.

Edited by: Mianna Foreseer on 17/12/2007 00:00:20 Like we can do much with any human or living cargo object anyways? We cant talk to them, free them or do what ever anything about them. They are just useless objects that EVE is full.
Yea it would be nice able to free slaves. Like when you free them they could improve the faction were those slaves did belong. (People kinda like to see their lost relatives back and KINDA like to see people who did save their loved ones as a HEROES)Or you could sell slaves for slavers NPCs that lurk on some 0.0 stations. Sell slaves for LPs or gain standings for evil factions.
Other NPC object options could be:
Pirates - You could interrogate them to get special locations. Example: Black market places to buy drugs or sell illegal goods. Pirate locations to raid (you would get exploration locations via interrogating pirates prisoners)
Slavers - You can free them to evil faction to get LPs and stuff or sell them to Concorde to get LPs and such from them.
Exotic dancers - You can sell them in Black Markets (locations) for LPs and so on or free them or use as a source of stable income :D
Generally there sould be possibility to talk any NPC objects (those people on your hangar or cargo bay) to find out what they want . Every NPC object could be used in some way. Its pretty dump that I have 800 mercs on my hangar along the army of exotic dancers, slaves and they seems to be happy to live on my gigantic station cargo bay for all the eternity.
BUUUUT Nothing of these will ever happen. Mark my words. CCP focus to more interesting player game interactions like how cool your ship look when you fly it.
