First, I didn't play at any casinos, and I don't really know about casino rakes. Regarding poker tournament entry fees, almost all major poker sites operate on a ~10% rake for small and medium stakes tournaments.
For instance, Full Tilt Poker:
1$ entry fee, plus 25 cents rake (25%)
2$ entry fee, plus 25 cents rake (12.5%)
100$ entry fee, plus 9$ rake (9%)
etc

It all depends on the casino. In Tampa FL the norm is 10-20% rake. Most poker online sites are between 5-30%. And according to most poker rules 10% is the general norm.

I've heard plenty of talk from CCP about this becoming a reality, I guess this is just testing the water with a differnt client to see what audience is being targeted/how many/ ect, ect...

If you know a casino, that hosts texas holdem tables and takes less than a 10% rake, I'll be there as often as possible...
The casino I play at, has a wsop poker room (yes, they host wsop tournaments) and they charge either: every 30 minutes, a set amount (depending on stakes of table) for no limit... or 20% of pot, for limit tables. They also charge 20% for sit and go tables, and 15% for multiple player tournament tables...
That is all.

If you download the full client (about 300mb) you will find a single player game, which has tutorials and all kinds of tables versus computer players. It's pretty good, try it out.

Why don't you use Pogo.com and use a private table with password which is only handed out here.
No Limit Texas Holdem has 4 players, 5,000 tokens for free (Fake tokens) you can assign each token a value like, well 100,000,000/5,000 = 20,000 ISK
High Stakes Poker is also 4 players, start with 5,000 tokens again.
Omaha Poker is kind of like Holdem but with a bonus card (If you set the game like that) You can have 6 players at the table - again 5,000 free fake tokens. It's slightly different, you can have 6 players, you are dealt 4 cards but only can use 2 from your hand. There are 5 cards drawn and there is a bonus (if you play that way).
The only reason I bring this up is because at some point the website you're using may eventually close to the US permanently.
Pogo has been on-line for at least 10 years and is available everywhere in the world. The only small compensation is 1) You could actually win real money if you "spin" the jackpot on the website (Extremely rare), but it could happen. This is actually a function within the website itself. 2) Every 10 minutes of play there is a 30 second ad.
You may want to check it out it might be an alternative website to use.

This was as well orchestrated as it could have been!
Sent Krestin the buy-in, got the password instantly, signed up on pokerwize, joined, had a good time, won, and was immediately given the prize money.
I'll be playing every game I can from here on out. I highly recommend Tempest Poker to any poker-curious or veteran players alike.
Awesome client, by far the best poker client in existance.

Another great tournament held by Krestin today & Tempest Entertainment.
Tournaments are held on a daily basis and information can be found in chat channel " tempest poker " start time is usually 21.00 Eve time with buyins varying from 11mill and upwards
The client is called pokerwize and is excellent. Its online poker site, and the tournaments are held like multi table freerolls
Today the buyin was 53mill 12 players registered, so the total pot was 600mill. Up to 50 players could have bought in today. The payout depends on numbers of players and they use payout system like most online poker sites use for multi table tournaments.
1st revcd 300mill
2nd recvd 180mill
3rd revcd 120mill
With only 12players registered the tournament started with 2tables of 6players, and once 4players were knocked out everyone automatically was seated at final table of 10players
This was the third tournament ive bought into with " tempest poker " and Krestin, and finally i got into the prize money great fun with great people.
1st 300mill TomHorn
2nd 180mill Sulmaster
3rd 120mill Amerzel
Krestin put alot of hardwork in setting up " tempest poker " and all poker players in Eve should try and help support these tournaments when they can afford to buyin.
If we could get the max of number of players entering there would be some unbelievable prize money on offer for the gamblers of Eve.

Another well orchestrated tournament by krestin and Tempest entertainment
Todays buyin was 53mill 9 players registered pot was 450mill. So only two places paid today
1st 350mill
2nd 100mill
Tournament started with 9players all sat at the one table, at the hour mark & 5min break there was only 3players left.We all had roughly the same chips and agreed to split the pot between us 150mill each

Same here. I haven't played poker in a couple of years. That's why I downloaded the full version of Pokerwize. That way I can practice before the tournaments.

Obviously the more players that register, the more chips you have to win and the length of the tournaments will increase.
The tournament wasnt over at the 1hour mark. There was still 3players left all with quite alot of chips and round about the same amount of chips. It only ended because we agreed to split the money 3ways.
Pokerwize is a great client the tournaments are great fun, why not support these tournaments Daniel and register and get in on the fun and prize money

to find players from your timezone, if different from our games, join other poker rooms such as Doa, I'm frequently banking tables there too, mostly because I like to play and it's usually fun. Eve-mail me if you want more details about the tournaments, or just join our in-game channel, mailing list, whatever fits you.
