So it has been a few days since the launch of *** gallente patch.... I mean destroy your OS patch..... ZOMG Nerf everything patch..... um let me try again .... trinity patch. Ah there we go.
Anyways here are some trends that I have noticed both good and bad. There seems to be a lot more low sec pirating. \0/ This game play aspect is very fun and Im glad to see more people doing it. Enjoy it until CCP turns low sec into high sec cause the carebears whine. So with the introduction of the new ships what types are being used?
Obviously Black Ops, and marauders are few and far between, but I am seeing a lot of EW frigs, and HICs. Very nice ships, and add some variety 8). However with the good comes a lot of bad.
Fleet fights are taking place at close rnage, fun if enjoy that type of thing, but it turely turns the game into who brings more.
Spider Tanking - every gang I am seeing is not nanoed. I know I am surprised too, however they are all armor tanking, remote repping gangs. If you ever watched the alliance tournaments with gangs that could not be killed or kill anything get ready to see it all the time in tq.
Few people are taking advantage of the very powerful ECM ships. I believe this will catch on sooner than later when people realize you can perma jam 5-6 ships with a rook 8). Oh and before all you sh*ts start screaming nerf ECM, remember you took away all viable counters when you screamed nerf everything else, so deal with it 8).

Yep-.. some ppl are already crying about ecm in the ships section.
The nerf bat isn't even cold from smackin damps and td's and they want to cry more about the only remaining mods that aren't weapons...

with the nerfing of a lot of what made skirmish combat viable (damps on your ships, survivable dictors, long/med range sniping) its not surprising people are turning to logistics to stay alive. In the end most people would rather finish an engagement with their ship intact then not and logistics is they only decent way you can do that in close range fights. Of course the lag prevents this at a certain critical mass.
As soon as the recon pilots get reskilled for ecm I expect the whining to start. Recon pilots get sadistic pleasure from frustrating their enemy and ECM is the ultimate tool for that now that damps are less then useful.
ultimately the nerfs continue to take the variety out of eve. Pretty soon we'll just sit in a station and lob rocks at each other. They'll be overheated and different colored rocks. But rocks none the less. At least the miners will be happy.
