Quick question guys,
a couple of corp mates want to make their own pos as they saw how much our corp pos's are making.
Question 1: Are corporations usually tolerable when members want put up their pos's
Question 2: What are the repercussions from members putting up their own pos's?
Question 3: Im worried of giving them POS's management titles and them might offlining our corp pos's and maybe even selling the pos's if they go on rampage, can pos's be individually managed or will their titles override password protected pos's?
I dont really mind them putting up their POS'S as long as they give the corp a percentage of their profits.

1. Ours is but then we have no stations or sovereignty to worry about.
2. You have to give them roles that would allow them to sabotage the ones that matter (if you hav any).
3. No way to stop this, once they have the roles they can do whatever they like to any POS. The only way to control it would be to put up the POS for them and give them fuelling roles so they can't online/offline stuff but then you'd have to empty their silos etc as well for them. -- eve-guides.com All about POSs, Outposts, Exploration, Mining, EVE Database + much more!! |

My corp has no provisions for members to have their own POS's since if you give permission to one, you give them to all POS's, we cannot take that risk.

Edited by: Tres Farmer on 13/12/2007 13:16:08 Hm..
If you restrict access to a FF by the password and switch OFF ally and corp default access, they can't get near your pos, can they? So how will they unanchor stuff inside the FF then? The only thing that gives me headaches are the guns outside of the FF..
Maybe with the caretaker and config manager role in the anchor-rights-tab more bad than good managable.. I mean.. config manager would be the only one able to modify guns on corp-pos and caretaker can do this on all player-private poses (caretaker role for private pos owners, but not the config manager role).. this way the 'problem' of trust is in the field of the private-pos-owning players and the corp pos should be secure.
Just my thoughts..

I think the best compromise for this sort of situation would be as follows:
Have them create an 'alt' corp. Set your main corps standings to blue so the can operate safely in the area (avoid friendly fire.) This way they can setup their pos's to their hearts content w/ the alt corp and you don't have to worry about giving them roles they don't need on your existing pos's.
Everyone gets what they want, problem solved.

It can be done. I few basics for you first on access levels at pos's and what they relate to in the title/access manager.
Starbase config = config manager Fuel technician = caretaker Corporation Alliance
CCP's current lack of any security protocals regarding pos's is always a hard one. Firstly, to allow your members to have access to there pos and not the corps you will need to change the access setting for there POS, this can be found in the Pos Manager, by defualt this is set to config manager. Id suggest changing it to either caretaker or corporation. Make sure all corp pos stay at config manager. Give All your corp members starbase fuel technician, This allows them to add but not take fuel from the pos. Can prove very helpful.
You will need a starbase configer member to initially change the pos access settings, or give them temporary rights. Easiest way is for non corp pos's access to be set to caretaker.
