I was just looking the posts about the problems of eve on mac. All of the leopard users having the "crash" problem. Well leopard is well known as a sucky system, comes with loads of problems not worth buying & updating. But it seems leopard users don't experience the graphical problem. we tiger users, especially in macbooks are having this weird graphical problem. most of the ships, in the portait , appears wrong or fizzled. And ALL Amarr ship portaits are broken, only some lines. When i jump to a system it starts to get weird, then i change anything related with graphics and its fixed next warp - dock - jump.
I hope CCP will come up with a solution, because i used to play eve via wine, and never experienced those graphical problems. So it must be related with client not macbook graphic card.

Please stop trolling. Also, FYI, EVE crashes both on Tiger and Leopard.

I had a lot of Finder crashes in 10.5.0, but 10.5.1 is stable for me. 10.5.0 was just so Apple could get Leopard out the door by the end of October. 10.5.1 is what would have been the first Leopard release had Jobs not set that deadline.

I just upgraded to Leopard. So far I thought EVE crashed may be a bit more frequently, but those few crashes i got don't make for good statistics as i just upgraded like a day ago, so I might be just imagining things.

Actually i was not trolling, that was my personal opinion and mostly irrelevant with the topic. The thing is, if macbooks are not supported, how come i can play with it with windows os or via wine?

You fail to recognize the difference between "sometimes works" and "supported". The latter means CCP will not acknowledge any graphical glitches, problems, crashes etc. as long as you report them on a Macbook. They simply don't want to be bothered. They have limited resources and they've made a decision not to bother about Macbook's integrated video for now. |

Problem being that the game went from having around 20-30 fps with the occasional graphic error to 10-20 fps and constant errors, making mining nearly impossible now, compared to some kill missions being easy even on the mac client.

Yes, I understand. And this is related to the OP how exactly? File a bug report or start a new thread. |
