I have recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate and have experienced constant graphical 'glitches'.
I am running Vista Ultimate (latest drivers) on:
amd64 3000 2gig ram gf7600gs
It seems there a parts missing from the ships and stations, and, lines jutting out from objects occasionally also.
I seems I am getting the same effects as some people using radeon mobility cards are having (described in seperate topics).
So any light that could be shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

No idea mate, but try re-installing drivers and/or look in computer case so GPU isn't overheating (remove dust, make sure GPU-fan is running).
Had similar lines/spikes sprouting out from in-game objects running games with my AMD Radeon X1900 GT, probably from overheating.
Changed video card to a heatpipe-cooled X1950 Pro, no spikes ever seen since then.

More like driver, heat and/or hardware than Vista-related, as my problems disappeared when changing hardware.

I have the latest gfx drivers and have checked my card temp whilst running EVE (around the 70c mark).
Just to clarify, this isn't a problem that becomes apparent after a certain amount of play, the glitching is there from the outset.

The weird gfx issues you mentioned sound just like a problem I had, but it turned out to be bad memory on my gfx chip. (evga 7900)

I have been running games for months with no problems with XP pro so I'm not sure it is a defect on the card

Edited by: Stregoica on 15/12/2007 18:00:13 The problems will only occur when the card is under lots of stress (=eves new un-optimized client)
Try running 3dmark6 a few times to see if the same thing happens Linkage

This seems to be a Vista driver issue i had it with WOW & EVE when windows installed the latest drivers for my graphics card. I fixed this problem by installing XP drivers & not Vista drivers.
Hope this helps

Got some interresting artifacts myself too. It's got nothing to do with the card running hot or something. It's also very unlikely that it's the drivers, got the latest and the greatest for that.
It's specific only to EVE with the high quality graphics on as far as i can determine.
It seems that the rendering of objects and the lightning of those objects is just out of sync. For example the jumpgates in deadspace the lightning is offset by a large margin on the Y axis.
Also targetting boxes are miles and miles away from the actual objects on screen. Als it's impossible to select any object in space. Only the overview works for that.. Quite annoying.
As far as i can determine, someone did make some wrong calculations in 3D space as the offset is constant and consistent. Driver or other bugs aren't this consistent and would most of the time lead to crashes rather than these extreme consistent offset errors. The "new" 3D engine of Trinity itself is the problem.
