The last year has been a year of transformation for many of EvE's pilots. Trinity Nova Mercenary Services was not exempt from the forces of change and evolution.
You will recall our recent announcement regarding the divergence from KIA alliance and the desire to return to our roots. TNT was the epitomy of guerilla warfare and in its early contracts and we wanted to move back to these origins and away from the larger fleet oriented battles that we had so far enjoyed with KIA. One of the things we missed was the feeling of involvement with the smaller corporations and the fledging businesses within the universe. Too often with KIA our employer was a faceless alliance entity and too oft was the little corp ignored or overlooked.
In the last two weeks TNT has completed four contracts of varying size. All contracts were a success and all for different reasons.
Our engagement vs an ISS POS in Mormelot is well documented and the deployment of MC's capital fleet vs TNT was covered in our last official press release.
This was quickly followed by a protectionist war against Spectre Ops. We were employed to distract Spectre and to help our employer prosecute their own defense against Spectre Ops who had declared on them. From the perspective of the clients goals we succeeded. For the first three days of the war we forced Spectre to remain docked and our client was able to return to their day to day operations with little fear of further loss.
It is important to note at this point that I am in no way suggesting Spectre OPS were unskilled. They chose the fights they wanted to engage in carefully. They fought the same fights we would of and they stayed away from the fights we would of in their circumstance. I have a lot of respect for their ability to engage on the terms that they want.
Operation Pheonix commenced towards the end of our patrols against Spectre who had allowed their war vs UNIC to fall away. We had been hired by a pilot who wished to remind Caelli-Merced of their combat oriented past and who wanted to encourage them to fight again. Some very specific conditions were set on what we could and couldn't do during this Contract and as such we arrayed our forces ready for the fight.
Gunboat were a modestly sized 208 man alliance however we found that they would usually have no more than maybe 8-14 men online at once and this significantly hampered their abilities to defend themselves as they would usually only field 4-6 pilots against us if that.
Some of their pilots deserve mention, Teufel Hunde who fought often and was always willing to try. It was this mentality combined with a careless moment from one of our own that scored him a cerberus kill. Oh and there's always Nicoli Voldkif's invincible Scorpion. Cheers Nic for a golden moment of humour. Nemeron appeared to have a cool head and despite his losses was willing to poke his head above the parapet.

Many times in our past we have been asked to help out smaller corporations with wars that they have neither caused nor warranted. Take a small fledgling corporate entity and grief it to hell and back as "training" for your younger members seems to be a fad in eve and one i don't particularly like.
So in true A-Team style we jumped into a black van with appropriate red stripes and spoiler and issued the relevant challenge to Death Monkey's with Knives.
I am going to shamelessly quote from both the client and mark here and i'll leave it to you to guess which was which.
"This war is fun and all but i am more intrested in how much isk it would cost for you declare war and turn on your current employees." - Politely declined
"I dont want to know who or why, just why the war has been extended for another week. FARK has retracted its war against Angelcor (and we all know they cant afford you), so please be so kind as to fill me in on the details, so that i can make alternative plans for my corps future."
"I'm writing to extend another thank you to you and your corp mates for your professionalism in our time of need. Our players are so new to the game that we found ourselves helpless to mount a reasonable defense on our own. Our leadership feared that this wardeck might tear our newly formed group apart before it was allowed a chance to grow.
I realize that you are a mercernary operation, and as such were only fulfilling a contract - but that does not discount you from a sincere thanks for a job well done. You have been no less then heroes to us in this tribulation.
We look forward now to a time when we can mount a reasonable defense on our own -- and have you to thank for that opportunity."
"It's hard to thank you for what you have done for us. I know we (Angelcor) have not been the best of help during the war but most of us have gone back to doing what we were doing before the war after contracting you guys. We haven't even had a second thought about them because of the great work your group has done.
They've retracted their war-dec"
Ultimately merc or not those last two almost brought a lump to my throat. All joking about the A-team aside all those posts needed was to end with me smoking a cigar at the end and I could retire happy.
So what next I hear you ask?
"Trinity Nova has declared war on Triumvirate..
After 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved."
