I've searched a lot but can't find much on it, and was wondering what is generally considered the best set of starting attributes for a gallente who is going to focus on pvp? Any help appreciated.

Don't listen to him, Author.
Atributes have no impact on actual combat, they do however, afect the time it takes to train a certain skill.
I sujest you look on the skills forum, right here on eve-o.
But, as a general guideline, you will want as high as possible Perception, and Intelegence, folowed by willpower and memory.
Charisma is good if your looking to bost your gang, but thats generaly much later into the game.
So basicly Percep = Intel > Will > Mem > Chari.
Good luck, and welcome to EvE

Intelligence, Perception, Memory, and Willpower. In that order from highest to lowest, and of course Charisma as low as possible.

Attributes don't really matter. Just don't put them in charisma. Go perception/willpower if you want to train pew pew faster. Go Intelligence/Memory if you want industry and science stuff faster.

Or you can go the balanced path and try to balance out all the attributes as much as possible.
Many of the charisma based skills are useful if you plan to do missions or trade a lot.
Best to get a good idea of what you want to do, or simply train up a bunch of quick skills to get your abilities up to a fun level... then train up learning skills and go from there

Im combat char and 37m/60m are perception/willpower. About 8mil are memory/intelligence. ^The rest are a mix for perception/itel and memory/willpower.

Not this, CCP likes to screw with people who skew their attributes, just look at all the upper end gang related skills. They have charisma worked into them in some fashion or another. I'm not Gallente, nor do I want to be, but I set all my stats even (-1 for charisma) and I've got no regrets.
