I believe not to be the only one having the problem of waiting 4ever to train 1 skill at a time.... so my ideea is to implement a skill that will allow you 2 train +1 skills simultaneus with each lvl. I don't exclude the complexity of harsh conditions 4 training lvl 1 of this multi training skill. Thanx 4 "listening" .

Training 1 skill at a time is OK, its the same for everyone. You can use the learning skills and implants, the result is the same... faster learning.
One thing I would like to see is the ability to queue training, so as soon as one skill finishes I can have the next one preselected and it automatically follows on. It would save me a lot of quick log-ins just to start a skill before I rush out to work in the morning.

For what it is worth, I totally agree wit the skill queuing idea
The problem i have with the multiple skill training is, When i signed up to eve i knew that a single skill would be trained even when not logged on, so if i was to go away for a week i could set a skill to train for the time i was away, If multiple skills were introduced then i would think that if you were not logged in the skill wouldn't be trained
Well thats my thoughts anyway

maybe a random-chosen skill could help if you are offline and nothing is being trained or? :D
Would suck of course since you might be training stuff you did not want to focus on, but the there would be no timeloss :D
Edit: Should also add the option "Auto-train skill with lowest required time" or so, too :D
On topic: Well, multiple skilling would split the "concentrated points" and therefore would have high penalties with skills that require 2+ days =) (realistically seen) - Just something to think about hehe

When you train a skill to level 4 (example), it should continue on to level 5 if you don't change it.

yes this would be very nice if this was brought into the game |

Training allocation would be fun:
1. Let's say you have 100 "training points" 2. You assign 50 points on skill 1, 25 points on skill 2 and 25 points on skill 3. 3. As time goes by, your primary training of skill 1 has finished, and your training pool is returned (or divided evenly amongs the two other skills) 4. You then again move your 50 points to skill 4 which begins to train again.
This would allow "background learning", where you train the skills you need _now_ and reserve some points to general skill pool. Think about it, on some skills it takes 30days to complete the skill, and you can't train anything else (or you need to do the stop/retrain thingy).
With training points system you could put reserve 80% for your primary training and put 20% to "to be finished sometime" skills. Or you might put 100 skills under simultaneous training.

How about the theory of evolution.
As new members join eve they find themselves almost a year behind most of us old timers. I say that CCP should induce a evolution type of learning. Since they are a few generations yonuger then us, then possibly they learn quicker then we do...at least until their account gets to a certain age.
This way the new guys train up by default 20% faster then us with no leanring skills. Then after the learning to lvl 5 it would be up to 30% then depending on the other attribs, they coudl catch up at a reasonable pace.
Most might feel this is unfair because we put the time in and it would simply be giving away what we had to work so hard for. I myself however would rather play with pilots that can actually accomplish day to day activities without waiting a month to have the skills to do it.
This skill boosting time should obviously be cut back to normal once the 3mil SP mark is met...
Just a thought.

Well, should you start two skills at a time, you will learn them twice as slow as if you were training only one. That is the balance.
However, I would like that system to be implemented. For example, I'm relatively noob for this game and it takes me some 3 to 5 hours to train some skills. I cannot train it during the time I'm playing EVE, because there are some other skills which require even less time and I don't play 5 hours a day. So, when I'm offline for sleep or for work, I have to start traing long-time-to-train skills, to avoid skillpoints lose. Once Ó 3 hour skill gets learnt, nothing is being trained for several hours remaining.
Queueing or simultaneous training would solve that problem excellently!

Edited by: Zzazzt on 16/03/2004 13:57:06 The "Abort Training" option does not lose you any skill points.
If you are training a skill that only has a couple of hours left & you want to go to bed, you can put another skill on that will last longer than your kip. When you next log in, you can pick up the skill you stopped from where you left off.

We know. But point is, that you need to stop the training on that skill and switch to another. Trivial thing, but unnessesary. Especially if you are required to do it about 100 times to get that lvl5 skill and lean some new tricks in between.

Dunno about being able to do it from the character page. Something like this would mean that they would have to create insert and update permissions to their database from the site...which im sure is currently only select querys.
With the new permissions, people could use asp hacks to tunnel in and actually hack the database easily. I think even having anything of this matter available from out of the client is kinda risky.
I would like to see a skill queue though. At least for about 3 skills to be in queue event hough only one is skilled at a time. Although alot of people would take advantage of this by buyging a new account and setting a few lvl 5 skills then stop payment on their account for a couple of months and come back in a month or two when they are done...possibly reselling them on ebay.

Edited by: Traiben Mightius on 16/03/2004 22:48:25 I would be happy if it just kept training on to the next skill level when it's finished. Seems silly that when you finish the first level of an easy skill (say 10-11 minutes or so) that it doesn't just continue on to the next level. That way you don't lose the time (unless it's a level 5).
I can understand why they want you to have to change your skills a lot... it's an incentive to go inton the game, if only for a few minutes. That makes their "players logged on" numbers go up. The more it looks like players are online, the more successful/popular the game appears, the more people want to try it... etc... etc... etc...
