Generally speaking which would you choose for general gameplay involving a mix of PVE and PVP? I initially thought Slave would definately be the way to go, but perhaps not. Speed has its uses too. Which would you get?

For cruiser or smaller, snake. Otherwise slave.

Amarr you used to want talismen set, but now Amarr EW is nerfed to hell so it is pointless.
I suggest that for pvp in fast khanid missile/drone ships, use snakes. Amarr have worst tracking and range of all races even today, so snakes will just make your tracking go worse as you orbit faster.
As for bugger ships, slaves is handy but to be honest, dont waste your money on slave s- just buy yourself a nice char with a bil or two that can fly minmatar or gallente and you get even more of a performance booost!

slave implat of course : abaddon/geddon/absolution/damnation/and other ship its just a advantage.
nanoship is for noob or oh i afraid to stay close range i need to go fast (0.0 member love snake implant)

I'd choose snakes. Makes nano curse/sacrilege really shine.

Just depends what you going to do 
Ofc ceptors,nano curse and nano sac's Are snake,,
Capitals and battleships slaves (Dont think they do that much for commands)
But anything else...Just pass the implants for now and puts some learning implants instead

Most amarr ships are armor amount intensive,besides a couple nano boats i would say go slave.
Also if i remember correct i believe slave are cheaper aswell?
