Jita is the most populated eve trade hub. Some ppl come there to buy stuff, f/x to fit a ship in one station. Others sell stuff, and have alts there to adjust prices - many of those moved to the forge region as whole, cause skills let you to modify your orderes remotly. So in theory sellers dont need to actually be in jita to do their business. Yet jita has huge amount of alts logged all the time, cause jita local chat is probably the best way of advertising in game, especially if someone earns isk by contracts. What I think might reduce quanity of alts in jita would be to move trade advertisment from jita local chat to constelation chat. What you guys think about it?
P.S
Yes I know some ppl are against advertising in local, yes I know some ppl do hunt for nice transports there, etc but there's also good number of ppl who are there just to run their business. |

a better idea: Close all the gates leading to Jita. Everyone in there can never get out. Nobody can get in. Traffic ceases. Problem solved. Universal peace reigns.

Make Jita a fluctuating sec-status system, the more people that go there the lower it gets. Starts off at 1.0 and for every 100 people it loses 0.1 SS because CONCORD can't protect everyone. 600 people and you have a 0.4 system

increase tax rate to a maximum of 25% on all sales on systems with high sell/buy traffic.
everyone would cancel their sell orders and place them in cheaper systems.
could also increase fee to place buy orders as well based off sell/buy traffic.

Devs have stated that the number one cause of lag in Jita is due to all the people fitting/unfitting modules on ships as it takes a lot of server resources apparently.

I heard you can buy Modules and Ships outside of Jita. If this is true there are a possible solution. Stay out of Jita if you canŠt stand the Lag, like I do.

The only thing that will prevent lag in Jita is people not going to Jita. Chat, as far as I know, is hosted on a different server anyway. As one of Crumplecorn's ace sigs says 'Jita does not lag because the server is insufficient. It lags because people keep going there UNTIL it lags.'

Well other than destroying jita just make it un profitable and increase tax rates based on system security status with jita being highly inflated :)
