Avon	Posted - 2004.03.15 11:51:00 - [96] Ok, I am getting pretty tired of the endless smack about the action around F-E space. I am going to clear this up as best I can, although I know my opinion will be flamed as biased. In the early stages m0o were seen to be bringing a fleet to Obe through empire space, using players to ferry those ships. At this point F-E was quite excited, we were able to see m0o were gathering a reasonable fleet and we were going to see some action soon. F-E recalled its forces and began to run a defence fleet in p3en, ready to await the m0o attack. At this time it was also noted that Evolution forces were moving down towards p3en from Venal. We prepared ourselved for an attack on two fronts, but unfortunately nothing came of it. It was becomming apparent that our strength in numbers was putting the enemy fleets off. Now, m0o seem to think that is somehow unfair, that we were stacking the odds because we were scared. We did not choose this war, and it is not our job to ensure the enemy has a big enough force to fight it. Slowly we became bored and so we started attacking m0o pilots around the stations in Obe, a risky strategy, but ultimately rewarding. Shortly afterwards the tables were turned. Whilst low on numbers and with most of our pilots logging on in Obe, m0o had adopted our station lock down tactic. A few of F-E were already in space, scouting the stations and calling opportunities to undock. M0o moved their forces to p3en, camping the Obe gate. As our forces increased and were able to undock we decided to take the battle to m0o, even though jumping in to a camped system is tactically not always the smartest move. We jumped our fleet in and took down two battleships before the enemy fleet retreated. Most of the smack has taken place on the forums, and unfortunately it has hidden what was actually a pretty reasonable engagement for both sides. I, and I know others from F-E, had reasonable conversations with most of the people from m0o - the majority of the 'smack' which makes the whole encounter seem so unsavory has happened between just a very few people from each side. While I agree that's a valid tactic you cant have it both ways. Your main tactic revolves around vastly outnumbering your target. This isn't going to be about any one battle. This is going to be about who has more determination, will to fight, logistics management and resources. In the long run m0o and clowns... errr i mean company will run out of steam as they have in everything else they have done. FA had to outlast you a whole 2 weeks before you withdrew. Now I do expect you to put more into this effort however the results will be the same. CA will remain the most powerful entity in Eve long after you're a faded memory.

It's much easier to keep track of losses of your corp/allies, compared to keeping track of your kills. Accurate kill lists are hard to get right. Accurate loss lists are a lot easier. Yeah, I agree that kill stats would be great (I too would very much like to see this implemented into the game). My point is that I have usually respect for your comments (donÆt necessary agree with you though), but this is not one of your better ones. As you know none of the sides will ever agree on the figures until there are some undeniable official stats. It would be better not to put petrol on the flames (even though it is probably far too late in the thread for that).

My experience of such big organisations as SA and CA, is that people in general has more accurate numbers on kills than losses. In such big engagements as ours, often involving maybe 30 pilots on each side and lasting for some time, there is always some guys logging off and some new coming to reinforce. Some guys also tends to be a bit upset and log off if they gets killed. So after some hours of combat it's hard to know how many ships your own side have lossed. Also, about battles that you're not involved in yourself, people tend to be much more happy about reporting their kills than losses... And people that fly alone and get ganked... sometimes not even all of his own corp is informed, not to mention the other corps in the alliance. Seen lots of examples of this, both SA and CA losses. So when m0o/Evol say "we've killed 28 battleships", followed by some CA replying within 10 minutes saying "hell no, you haven't", I don't believe the 28 ships to be accurate, but I do believe the correct number is between 25 and 30, and that the guys flat out denying immediately really don't have any idea whether they have lost 10, 20, 30 or 40 ships. M0o and Evol will remain on our KOS list. While we will not be actively hunting either corp in curse, we will attack any EVOL/M0o forces we come across. Celestial Apocalypse are an independant anti-pirate force in EVE. While we will concede that Curse's policies of secretly backing m0o (in addition to the POD war) are one of the main reasons for initiating aggression against Curse. We find it ironic and amusing that poetic justice has been served now that your former allies m0o are attacking you. The war has escalated to a point to where the reasons for starting it no longer matter. After the 2 weeks of abuse on the forums and local, curse will forever be KOS for Celestial Apocalypse. While we concede that CA is such a gargantuan alliance, with FE/C4, and it will be difficult to destroy u, it will still be fun killing your battleships( and making our eve subscription worthwile).
