Damn guys i been waiting 4 hours to play i want my eve wheres my eve why aint it up yet what you doing didnt you feed the hamsters.
Im gonna revoke my subscription over this, I want a refund of 4 hours gameplay, I cant chnage my skill, Why wasnt i warned about this, i pay for this game i want to play it, CCP hurry and get servers up.
Ok think that covers it so no need for any more posts :)

Protocols can apply at many layers simultaneously. One example is HTTP on TCPIP. Chances are the "Incompatible (Protocol)" means CCP's protocol used between client and server has changed.
So either the netcode has been improved, or we can expect some more bugs!

Its basically saying incompatible protocol version. There are multiple "layers" of protocols in the OSI model of networking.
TCP is a layer 4 (session), IP is 3 (network), and the one that eve communicates with would be a layer 7 (application).
I imagine that the protocol that eve uses has a version number that has to match for both client or server, otherwise the protocol is said to be incompatible.

I get the same error with the auto patch thru EVE, I also get this when trying thru the eve-online web page

Actually im assuming they have not uploaded the patch files yet they have simply setup the client for the patch....

My skill is running so I'm safe before anyone tells me to always set a long skill training but honestly, after 4 years in the business one would think that they know the procedure of patching their server by now.
Every time the damn server goes down for patching it all feels like the game is a day old and the devs have no clue what button does what on a controller board wide as the one they have in a nuclear plant.
Some professionality would be nice, I know inbreeding is common on iceland but seriously, it only takes one finger to click a button.

Think the patch messed my game up
I start the game and it opens in the task bar but when i click it it maximises and minimises but nothing actually shows up on screen still only see my desktop :(

Ok.. I did the auto-patch, rebooted the comp (it told me to, that took quite a bit of faith).. But now it just terminates right after I launch it. Not looking good..

My nuts have by far saved themselves from the cup of icewater.
I just love this. It would be more apropriate to set a OVERSIZED
DT, instead of setting it forth an hour every hour for hours and hours.
On a sidenote; god damn luck. 2 days off work, 1 there is a storm and my wifi internet is fubared. second day, ccp fubared me :D

why not announce that the patch deployment will take 3 hours longer from the start, what I mean is patch deployment was supposed to be all done and dusted by 1500GMT, however if on your press release you said it would take till 1800GMT you've got 3 hours wiggle room, and if you finish earlier everyone will rejoice! instead of people screaming that they can't login at 1502?
is that too crazy an idea, I'm a bit out of the box if you know what i mean

they did that with the main Trinity patch.... estimated 24 hours and were up in 20, was very nice (though some think they rushed it and let in too many bugs)
my guess is this is a small patch they did guess long on something that should have only taken 2 and predicted 4, but something else went wrong.....

You know some news as to what is taking longer than expected would be alot better than loging every 30 mins to see the new headline that its 30 min later would be alot better. Then maybe you could calm the people down.

Why cant thwey p[ost that its not going to be at 1700 before 1700 instead of each time they wait till after the posted time to extend it..and you would think after the major screw up with the trinity deployment they would have had this patch completely in order before releasing it
evidently no lessons were learned when they screwed up trinity release and of course the last thing they are going to do is offer to credit you for loss of playtime god forbid they try and give something out to apologize for the inconvience!!!!
