Edited by: Cygnus X on 15/03/2004 08:54:28 I completed all my tutorial missions and was then directed to my first 'real' agent in a neighbouring system (another level 1 agent).
What standing do I need with this agent's corp before I can use lvl 2 agent of the same corp?
Am I right in assuming that if I want to use agents from another corp, I need to start with the lvl 1 agents again for this new corp to get my standing up for their lvl 2 agents?
I have recently join a player corp. If the corps standing is high with a level 2 agent then will that allow me to use the agent even if my personal standing with the agent is low?
As your standing with an agent improves does the rewards the agent gives improve or is the standing increase just to allow you to use higher level agents?
At what level do agents start to dish out Implants?
Thanks for any answers..... |

Lots of questions
To be able to use an agent, you need good standing with either the agent himself, his corp, or his faction. Whatever is highest counts. So working for one agent helps to get access to other agents of that corp, and working for one corp helps to get agents from other corps of the same faction. Standings of your corp do not count at all, only your personal standings.
If you check your character sheet, you will see your standing with all factions, corps and agents who you have worked for.
Showing info on a faction gives a list of member corps. Showing info on a corp gives a list of all it's agents, completely with information which of them you can access and which not. Showing info on an agent you cannot use yet tells you what standing you need to access that agent.
As your standing with an agent increases, so does his "effective quality" (check in agent info). Higher effective quality gives better mission rewards, a higher chance of important missions, and also better missions in general (shorter routes on courier missions, for example).
Implants are only availabe in some of the important missions of level 3 agents. Check here for a list of corps and what implants they give.
Important skills when working with agents: - Social: Helps you gain standing quicker - Negotiations: Raises the effective quality (better missions and rewards) - Connections: Gives you access to higher level/quality agents earlier

Find a Corp you like and double click on it. You should be able to see a list of agents that you can and cannot use at this time along with their location. Next to their images it should also tell you what standing you need to use that particular agent. Just to give you a general idea, I am using a level 2 agent who has a rating of -18. To use the next best agent of rating 2, I need a standing of 2.0. Hope this helps.

Good info there, but which do you think would produce better rewards, a Level 1 agent of high effective quality, or a Level 2 agent of low quality? (on average - I understand that it varies). I'm kind of in that L1/L2 bracket at the moment.

Level 2 is nearly always better than level 1.
There might be a few exceptions depending on how good the effective quality of the agents really is, and what you expect out of your missions (do you just want money, do you want to get to level 3 asap, are you looking for special rewards ...?), but in general you should go for the highest level available, with quality being secondary.
