I was thinking that there should be odd things in different sectors. Real black holes (I can see some really cool graphics for this) that if you get to close to you are sucked in but there is a deadspace complex just on the ridge that provides fun for those willing to brave it. A nebula covering an entire system that has weird things inside, wormholes that takes you to darkest systems with no stars and a mysterious complex. Giant Crystalline structures that stretches from one gate to another. Giant suns that fills a system. This doesnĘt have to be strictly 0.0 either it could be in empire space to. Give players some new experiences in space to look at and discover.

I was going to make my own thread but I will just post this here instead since its in the same vain:
Hidden smuggler gates connecting north/south/east/west 0.0, or even closeby/inter-region
They'd connect the likes of Cloud Ring to Outer Passage, Paragon Soul to Branch, Stain to Venal, etc. If connecting such far away regions is problematic even close by or intra-region hidden gates would be fun as well.
You'd have to probe them out with either probes or the new on-board scanner (make them cosmic anomalies perhaps). They change system/location each downtime to stay low profile from pirates, etc. Perhaps change which regions are connected every downtime as well.
Maybe have NPC pirate faction ships guarding them and to use it you either have to 1) kill them (Have them respawn after a short while so you have to kill to use again later) 2) bribe them 3) have good standings and pay stargate fee (I know CCP likes isk sinks -- 1M per jump sounds about right!)
It would be a fun thing to use, imagine being chased and you slip through one you have found, leaving your pursuers very confused! Or perhaps one day it connects two regions letting you take advantage of a good trade route for the day. Or maybe used for more nefarious purposes -- have your gang hiding through one ready to jump in and and ambush a hostile fleet in a seemingly clear region of space!
Some may argue it makes the universe smaller, but not really if you limit it to just 1 or very few per region and also finding them would be pretty time consuming. If the destination region and location is randomized every downtime they're not something you can rely on, just something you can have fun with that one day.

I'd really like to find a wrecked Nuka-Cola... err, I mean Quafe Ship with 20,000 bottle caps in cargo hold.
