Anyone having issues/troubles downloading the non-premium content client. Every time I download it, it corrupts the installer.
I've tried downloading via, IE7, IE6, Firefox, WGET (for windows) I've tried different machines.
The SHA-1 checksum for the downloaded client doesn't match the one advertised with the program.
I get the option to skip the integrity checking and use the /NCRC switch, too which eve starts extracting and halts on evecosmos.stuff.
Any ideas? |

Have you tried downloading the full client with a download manager?

Would you know where in the .ini I would disable premium content? |

Not sure, but should be this:
\ccp\eve\cache\prefs.ini
Look for a line called trinityversion, and replace it with: trinityVersion=dx8
Backup your prefs.ini file beforehand in case it doesn't work.

its not that simple to go from premium to classic. u can alter the prefs.ini file but u also need a new manifest.dat file. because that file differs from classic and premium

Well, it's possible to go from premium to classic with a simple checkbox on the options menu, without having to install anything extra, so I think it's safe to assume the premium version fully supports running in classic mode.

Edited by: Claire Jacobs on 19/12/2007 12:17:26 Just downloaded the premium content client from the site, and the same problem NSIS corruption.
Used the same methods above, nothing wrong with the dsl-line.
SHA-1 not matching. Could CCP please confirm the SHA-1 codes or the clients integrity.
+ When the installer downloaded previously and icon was applied, instead It's currently keeping the defaul white box, blue border icon. |

Ask a friend to download it and take a burnable DVD or USB stick to their house?
For a short term fix, anyway. -----

i dont understand, after the boot.ini debacle, how they could screw up a patch like this again. ugh.

Recap.
I've tried downloading both the classic and premium on two different machines on different means as well. IE6, IE7, Firefox, WGET and neither work. Just an NSIS error.
I downloaded to another machine, file ran, past integrity, but stopped 42% into installation with corrupt data. It's not corrupt.
Copied onto USB Stick to try on my machine, passed integrity check, started installing and failed.
Tried running it again.... and it failed integrity check.
Any ideas CCP? |

Edited by: Nemiona on 19/12/2007 14:02:43 I downloaded it yesterday with no problems. (I have vista if that count..)
Although on the test server I got corrupt download on the patch if I downloaded it from the game. But when I downloaded it from IE it worked fine
edit: oops.. seems like you guys talk about the full game, not the patch

Quote: The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.
You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.
It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED).

That it actually installs, doesn't create menu links, shortcuts etc, and everytime you load the program you get a CRC failure on python25.dll? Thus the game cannot load.
Logserver ftw :/ |

Not at all, this is a clean machine ready for a clean installation. It's my new work machine ;]
I just ran the setup again and it came up with a decompression error, but 20minutes ago it didn't and actually installed corrupt files. |
