Logic ftw? Agreed. I don't get the whole 'backstabbed' philosophy. At MOST MC ended a contract/agreement with BoB in a questionable manner. Though, to be fair, in MC's mind BoB was unable to continue to fulfil their part of the agreement. Who here honestly believes BoB could have defended Period Basis against RSF & Friends ? Nobody? Well then, MC was within their rights to terminate whatever agreement they had with bob if it included BoB defending Period Basis and providing MC their constellation. MC was merely moving to secure their assets. Now, I do agree it could possibly have been handled differently but MC chose this manner. I personally don't think it's backstabbing. It's not nice but it's not backstabbing. BoB seems to think MC was a "pet". MC was not, they were just Mercenaries under prolonged retainer. Conditions of the retainer were no longer met so they ended the relationship. Actually this kind of reminds me of the books about Wolf's Dragoons. When House Kurita moved against the unit and Wolf's Dragoons fought back instead of allowing Kurita to absorb them. Reminds me a bit of "Hammer's Slammers" too. Between CAOD and SHC IÆve been reading of deals/contracts allies and alignments and backstabbing all good reading I might add. Anyway while I was at work today I was digesting the latest round of back and forth posting when the thought occurred to me. If MC rented protection rights and real estate in Period Basis from BoB for a price of say 1 month contractual obligation per year plus not taking a contract on BoB. That appears quite straight forward to me. As I said I like to keep up with the news and a few things sort of fell into place. MC goes North in January and did not complete the job till roughly June/July say. By anyoneÆs reckoning thatÆs 1 month work plus an extra 5 months so if the above is correct. MC rent is fully paid for this year plus the next 5. I also remember seeing somewhere written that the Mynas guy was complaining about having his corps assets locked in stations up North because BoB didnÆt help move them when MC were moving out to go help secure FiX. Anyway lets say conservatively that thereÆs 5 bill in assets locked up somewhere in the North also belonging to MC or MC corps. This is starting to add up to quite a considerable sum. Then you would have to add on the payment for prohibition 3, which to my knowledge no one has ever declared if they got paid or not. Merc = Pay Per Fight ? I started to wonder if I was working for a company and they werenÆt paying me what would I do. IÆd need to go to an industrial tribunal to try get what IÆm owed. But Eve doesnÆt have such a system, whatÆs the only way I can get recourse? If there is any argument in what IÆve just said I canÆt blame MC at all. As for your question of fractions I havenÆt read about any signs of it as yet so I guess weÆll have to just wait and see.

Instead they let some of their customers fall without even coming to help them. MC obviously saw this as future things to come, and realized that there was no point to continue their relationship no mater what it was.

People come and go for many reason but being honorless back stabbers and bandwagon lemmings is not high on the list. In fact I can think there are quite a few people that are pretty happy that the ties have been cut. I don't think you quite understand that most people in the MC could care less about backstabbing and more about the pew pew.
