So EVE ships are supposed to be piloted by one person in a small capsule, that person is wired to the capsule and im assuming it cant leave it. So how how come all the ships have all this windows in them with all the window lights turned on and stuff ? are there supposed to be crewmembers, appart from the pilot, in the ships ? Must suck to be part of the crew when only the pilots' capsule is the one to scape when a ship blows up ..

Apparently (I don't read it) according to the fiction, even capsuleer ships have crews. RPers love to argue about this though.

The windows are there because people need to know when to run for the escape pods. Its not like we're going to tell them, most capsuleers don't believe they exist. ---

While I am guessing the pod allows a more intuitive control of the ship as well as ensuring a good transfer connection to your clone in case of death, I doubt that one could psychicly perform the preventative maintenence required, especially on the larger ships, without a large crew to assist in that function. Not to mention the possibility of crew member's families, workers from the gallente pleasure pits, passengers, and even slaves with some races could be running amuk on your ship. -- Talking in Circles is more dizzying than walking in them...

Does no-one beside me print and read the database cover to cover? ;)
All ships have variables defining the max passengers. A thorax got 760, an Avatar got 150. Catalyst 450 and the Wyvern is at 150 aswell

I'm pretty sure Battleships have crew sizes in the 4500-7000 range. Titans have millions.

In the "EVE Guide" book that CCP released in 2003, they had stats on all this ship, including the number of crew each had. If I remember right, a BS had a couple of thousand...
