Hey Hooch I was a little bit curious as to how you guys operate, since I am *somewhat* frequently in and out of Jita and I usually only see maybe one ship near 4-4 undock and not even regularly. . . truth be told I rarely see a Privateer anywhere on the route from LXQ or L4X or whatever to Jita or to Rens. If I had to guess I'd say this was more of a roving-gang type deal and less of a camping type deal?
Anyways sometimes some of us are online and everyone in Curse is hiding and Stain is still scary and we look for empire decs and nary is there a Privateer in sight to sound the alarm for some small gang empire action :D
Any tips on how to find y'all, or is it purely hit-or-miss? ____________________________ stop posting |

Well since you did ask (i will send the isk later )
You have to understand what Privateer Alliance is first. We are 12 to 20, 1 to 50 members corps that that would be attacking empire based corperations or alliances singulaly and not having the funds to really make any money at it with few targets as a whole.
Then the founder of Privateers got an idea, "what if we simply just made an alliance that made a living at making empire wars?" then it all fell into place. Now at the beginning of it all wars were cheap and we could run many, many wars as many as 100 at a time. But CCP decided that was too much of a good thing, the early Privateers made empire a very un-safe place to point that we were having a real impact on the game play. Well, people *****ed and whined and so the game was "fixed" in that aspect back in March 2007.
And yes, it really took the wind out of us for a few months. Those of us that stayed knew that givin time we could re-build what was now broken but it would take time and isk. Since then we have chosen wars a bit more wisely and started taking on contracts and became a bit more "merc'ish" but have kept true to basic founding principal. That is, roam empire in smaller bands, hit hard, hit fast, get the loot, and then fade away. Avoid large stand up fights, unless they are on our terms. Be every where and be no where all at the same time.
We do not bother with .0 politics, very many of the members now are former .0 line fighters that just got tired of grind of losing our ships and isk at the whim of leaders that could give a rats ass about helping us as we lost ships, fittings, implants and went broke.
Privateers is not a top down alliance as many are used to. The leadership does not tell it's member corps where to play, how to play, and when to play. If we can assit each we do, but there are no rules that say you have to. We allow corps and members to come and go as they please, but they must leave on good terms.
So to answer you questions, we do have members that will roam .0 or lowsec from time to time, but we do not require it. The only thing we do required is 50 million per week, per corp to fund wars and that is about it.
Cheers
