Why doesn't CCP just shut the server for 24 hours or so so no one has to work on the 25th?
I'm sure only a handful of people (not sad gits at all I hasten to add) would complain, and everyone would get to spend more time with their loved ones.
Come on CCP, you know you want to do it __________________________________

And I'm sure someone gets plenty overtime money for working xmas day so wouldn't worry too much about them.

I was purely thinking of people who have to work xmas day regardless of the finacial reward they get. I could have worked over xmas for a nice amount of cash but I prefer the time off. Some people don't get a say in if they work or not as they may be contracted to do so (yes I know they signed a contract to that effect by choice). __________________________________

Everyone in your world celebrates Christmas, therefore everyone in the entire world must? Didn't see many calls to close the servers for Eid.

And cue a week of threads demanding subs back for closing down EVE for xmas day
or
Skipping past your attempt to enforce your pseudo Christian work ethic onto other people and go straight to, don't you think it would be more in keeping with the modern day spirit of Christmas if we just let CCP bleed us dry of our heard earned money for that one special day just like every other retailer and service provider in the entire world have been doing since october?

Avon one Q. What date is it? (include year) As the entire worlds date system revolves around this one event I'd say it's a tad more important than a holiday to celebrate the end of a fasting period... wouldn't you agree? :) |

Why does your lack of knowledge mean that "most" Eve players celebrate Christmas?
Why would you think that there is not a decent amount of Muslim/Jews/Hindu/Chinese/Other religions?

Edited by: Elliot Reid on 21/12/2007 14:57:43 Well I apologise for thinking of the people who run the server in the UK where the 25th is a public bank holiday not being able to take that day off. Oh and I am an atheist who just likes time off work.

Ack, you edited it while I was quoting...
But you are quite correct, the 2 parts of the Holiday are separate, Santa and the gifting with toys were added to help keep the Pagans in line
As for the lack of a Happy Hanukkah, you are quite correct and we are all remiss in our blindness to the beliefs of our friends and fellow Players, please accept my heart felt apologies and a belated Happy Hanukkah.
I think Ramadan ended a while back as well... and we missed that as well... is it Happy Ramadan or Merry Ramadan? --------*****-------- It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.
