Edited by: Maldus on 21/12/2007 16:04:34 hi, i am wanting to make an alt for pvp so that i can use it to protect corp members when mining but i would like to know which ships are the easiest to fly and more importantly most fun... i will prob aim for a Battlecruiser first as i will be in low sec and not 0.0 for a while...
i was looking at the myrmidon but not sure how good it is :)
i know little about combat in eve as i have spent all my time mining
(basically i would like to know which race has the "best" ships so that i can start training for them now :) )
thanks

No race has the best ships. All races have good and bad ones in certain situations. -- Hope is the first step on the road to dissapointment. |

i know :) hence why i put the best in ""... should have been more clear :) - what is the most suted race of ships to fend off other players in low sec while protecting miners? ie is it better to use drones? missiles? lasers? etc :)

Fend off? A cloaked falcon will work for allowing you to escape I would think, an indy with a cyno fit - when they land in belt pop cyno - pure bluff or not depending on your corp. When a cyno flies "most" would prob think twice about staying, it might help you once to bluff locals.
Otherwise get 2-3 dmg dealing bs/bc to sit in belt with ya along with the falcon, 3 torp ravens and a falcon would be a bit to deal with.

well i would go with something battlecruiser sized, battleships are a tad unwieldy, if you get a gang of fast t2 cruisers and your all alone (cept the miners) your pretty much doomed to a long slow agonizing death.. a BC (myrm/harbinger do to their fair dmg output and respectable tanks) is probably your best bet. disadvantages: myrm is a drone ship, your DPS is killable whereas harbinger like all amarr ships has cap problems (though they can be avoided if you know what you are doing) if you are going to use a battleship fit neuts, to drain the small ships if they wander too close. a robust tank is a must, but you should probably pack some speed at least. also, a titan or two will probably stand you in good stead. so yea, whatever =P
