I am not allied to any corp, or alliance. I'm not on anyone's side.
Who am I? In the Eve Universe I'm a nobody really. I really like watching the politics of Eve unfold and have been watching it for years. I enjoy the massive level of metagaming requirements at the highest eschelons of the game.
I would definitely be considered a hardcore metagamer at heart. I ran an EXTREMILY, successful WOW guild for quite some time. I was a superb raid leader and guild leader, I don't say this in an egotistical way. I was a superb guild leader because I looked after my crew, plain and simple. I didn't look after my crew to simply bolster my own powerbase in WOW, although it sure was nice being at the centre of things; I looked after my crew because that's my nature, that's just the kinda person I am. I build people who deserve the best things in life into being the best people they can be.
I also suffer a chronic disability, and one day I had to walk away from WOW for my health. I just thought I would set the mood, a little. I met hundreds of people in WOW, if not thousands and was one of the most relentless and successful recruiters in the game. And by and large I learned a simple truth. There is little honour left in the world and 99 percent of people I met were unpleasant to say the least. In the end WOW, only stood for World of Whinecraft as far as I was concerned. That's all I seemed to encounter. Anyways. That one percent of people who were seriously, genuinely, totally, quantumly super *******, absolutely zero cool, just weren't worth the stress of hardcore metagaming with the constant pressure of my disability weighing down on my every day. And with having to deal with all the ******s and the whiners it just wasn't worth it. Pity really, I really enjoyed being a true leader of people, even if it was just a game.
I know enough about Eve politics to say that BOB and Goonswarm and MC and all the alliances and corps of Eve to say that none of you are perfect. You all smacktalk and whatnot and that's all part of the fun.
I do have a request to the whole Eve community though.
This one time put aside all the metagaming, all the politics, all the greed. Put aside all your desires for personal glory, I guess this goes out to all the alliances and corps aside from Tortuga and BOB. Stay out of the fight between BOB and Tortuga. This is just a request of an oldschool metagamer with the heart and soul of a true leader of human beings. Don't interrupt this fight between BOB and Tortuga. Once the victor is decided between those two major powerblocs by all means go in with the full force and power of your alliances and corps. Knock yourself out. But Let BOB and Tortuga finish their war.
Tortuga made their choice and BOB is stepping up to the plate in response. This is one war I think should be allowed to play out. There is something deeper at stake here something unexplainable in words that can only be described by the outcome of these two great powerhouses clashing together in all their God damned fury.
Mittani, this is a request from me to you especially I guess. You have no reason to listen and I have no true expectations that anyone will truely take me seriously as I have much experience in metagaming. But from one metagamer to another. Obviously from one who suffers an excruciating disability to someone who is immensely successful as a metagamer and will be for a long time to come unceasingly, unrelenting and untiringly. And To all the corps and alliances of EVE. Stand back and let this war unfold between these two superpowers. Choose a higher path and let this clash be decided on the battlefield between these two superpowers and not by behind the scenes scheming to attack a truly challenging foe like BOB until BOB is in a position to fight back with all it's might.
By all means once BOB and Tortuga finish their war, Mittani bring in the full force you have organized to crush BOB to your hearts content

I have to admit I prefer the level of metagaming, one can only find in a sandbox type of game like Eve and Ultima Online. But don't underestimate the level of difficulty it takes to be a raid leader in WOW. That's just being ignorant. I respect both Eve Online and World of Warcraft for different types of games that they are. In all truth I prefer sandbox games like Eve Online but WOW has it's strong points. To mindlessly bash WOW for the sake of it and to troll has not point.
I am an old school gamer and have been playing games since the old Spectrum 48k. I know what I love in games. In all truth most games bore me senseless WOW and EVE alike but I am a huge Sci Fi buff. And I like the ambience of Eve. And the sandbox style of gameplay.
But yeh your exactly the 99 percent of people I was talking about and I expect more of those mindless kinda posts. But my request still stands regardless of your opinion. In fact I hate forums I stay away from them. I didn't even have a forum for my own guild I prefered to organize everything in game and through voice chat just because of the huge amount of stupidity arising on forums in general.
And still my request stand from one leader and metagamer and to all the leaders and metagamers in the Eve Universe. Leave these two to war with each other. Just to see how it turns out. And then by all means all the alliances of Eve band together to crush BOB for all I care.
Hell I would join BOB and fight for them against you all just because I prefer those kinds of odds.

WOW sucks.
And if people decide to leave BoB - MC alone they will for personal reasons.
I hope they will not, because if there are any itnelligent RA/Goon leaders out there (and there are) waiting for a massive battle between BoB/MC to end and then dropping a huge blob on them would not only be effective, but pretty damn funny, too.

I see absolutely no reason why anyone should listen to this.
"Metagaming" IS playing EVE. Despite what some people seem to think, the "right" way to play EVE isn't fullscreen with sound on, crying about spies and infiltrators in Jita before you roll out with your posse into Syndicate.
The "Right Way" to play EVE is to play it any goddamn way you like. That includes the new drama between Tortuga and BoB, because it's not just their affair. The sudden instability in Period Basis affects the entire south, and to ignore it would be monumentally idiotic for anyone involved in the conflict. Why shouldn't everyone and their grandmother get involved, or use the opportunity to sidebumsex either party while they're distracted? What the hell next? Alliance-issued mandates that all 1v1 requests shall be honored and the Strict Moral Code of the Podpilot adhered to at all times?
Leave your honor in Agil. When you roll into HED-GP, no-one gives a **** about it.

Can anyone quickly enlighten me on how to get my corp to show? I have about 15, 20 minutes before I have to rush to Brisbane.
Sorry for that guys but this is an emergency. The whole corp not showing thing. I just wanted to say my peice about the whole BOB, Totuga War. Just to freaken top it off my Wife's Auntie - surrogate mother is dying as I type this. And I won't get a chance to fully say my peice I think there is a computer with a net connection at the hospital, hopefully CCP won't delete my posts. And I don't have time to search through the freaken Faqs to work out why my corp tag isn't showing so I can post in COAD. She's dying as we speak. No, not joking, she is dying. We're not sad trust me if you knew the circumstances of her current state of life dying would seem merciful.
I don't know if I can give you a rationale for this Metagamer request. For a superpowerbloc such as the Red Alliance - Goonswarm alliance and for the Northern Coalition, this is the perfect time to strike.
Gotta run, someone's dying who I have to go see and look after in their final moments. Make jokes if you will but this part is true. Well as is most stuff I say when I decide to speak.
But then this magnificent battle won't play out between Tortuga and BOB.
There is no rationale for it. I just want to see it.
It's like watching two suns crash into each other. You just sit back and watch it, because you can.
There will be more than enough time to crush BOB after this war, if they survive the onslaught of Tortuga.

Tell me.. What could these BRAVE people loose when entering one of them raid areas?
Could they loose all their magical swords and axes? Where you a good raid leader because you knew what types you needed? Had a nice list of how to BUFF the tank(s)? A good supply of clerics to heal / resurect the dead people??
Did your raiders get many blueballs? Did you ever lead your gang(s) on 6-10 hour operations to get supplies to the frontlines so you could run a raid next week?
WOW are trash compared to EVE, and WOW have no reason to Metagame, at ALL, because there are no risk. It is something like... ratting. Kill , look in wreck.
Back or front?Both ways are fine by me.

Personally I suspect OP is a bob alt.
Look at it this way, if everyone "stays out of it" and BoB lose then its cool cos they lost to MC who are just l33t vets like them really and not to those scummy little goons.
MC have jumped ship at the last second when they saw which way the cookie was crumbling, this war is not about mc & bob.

wait a second, i remember this from wow... Who are you and what guild did you run? personally i ran Inner Sanctum on EU Silvermoon.
Anyways. The whole REASON that the tortuga war is blossoming is because of the pushes that's been made throughout the southern area of new eden. MC would probably still be blue had things been stable with razor and friends in north not pushing FIX around and with a more stable situation vs the RSF. The tortuga war is just a battle in the war that's been rageing New Eden for the last year. Much like D-Day was just one battle of WW2.
Edit: D-day reference used as it was a turningpoint for the 2nd world war much as MC turning on BoB is a nice turningpoint in this war.

Hey, everyone, I just woke up I'm at a hospital and I haven't got a real chance to read what people have said. I've had like four hours freaken sleep and I'm being woken by nuns. God damn it.
And I'm pretty damn sure this computer I'm using has freaken dial up.
I'm sure a lot of people have disagreed with my request. Personally from a strategic point of view to smash BOB now while they are occupied on a different front is an opportunity few could resist.
My request stands. Let these two superpowers duke it out. Like watching the slow dance of two galaxies crash into each other, let these two superpowers fight it out to the death, purely for the spectacle. If BOB comes out the victor then go in and try to destroy them, once, they have a chance to go down fighting on a fair battlefield.
I'm not saying BOB are noble, or honourable. Maybe they don't even deserve this chance for a fair fight against the massive forces allied against them. But no one can truly claim the moral high ground. I respect the achievements of the great metagaming corps and alliances of Eve, and the great metagamers behind them. Even if you smacktalk me, and say all the general kinds of rubbish human beings are prone to saying on forums.
My respect for Goonswarm, BOB, MC is the same for all. I know a lot of you guys can't help smacktalking me for my post, you can't help yourselves. My respect comes through objectivity and my lack of bias exists outside of the actions of individuals anyway.
I just look forward to waking up and reading the battle reports between Tortuga and BOB.
I want to see one fall.
But for some inexplicable reason I'd like it to be a level playing field for the two combatants.
When I get back home to the Gold Coast I'll try write up a more comprehensive post. This post is a little on the fly I'm afraid. This computer is on dial up. I can't read any replys to see who's saying what right now and I have a woman dying in the next room. So I'll try get back online later from home. But I might be here for a day or so.
Can mods edit my character so my corp shows up? I'll try fix it asap. I'm just a little rushed and preoccupied right now.
I'm curious to see the Eve communities general response to my request. I'm pretty used to the general level of response on forums but I'm sure a couple people have put forth something constructive.
