IGÇÖm not looking for anyones coveted secret fittings/configurations. IGÇÖm just more curious about what people mostly use to PVP solo or fleet and if you change out the ship type if youGÇÖre killing in Empire or low sectors. IGÇÖm going to assume that most solo PVP is frigate based, but I am a new player and IGÇÖm probably wrong. |

During fleet ops; Scimi/Guardian mostly, sometimes I have to fly pew ships too, but I try to avoid it since I think repping is more fun and challenging than F1 primary. Really wish I could bring an onerios since it looks neat imo, but I'd rather have ship reimbursement than troll my fc.
Solo and on roams; Talos, whatever is hanging around my hangar that needs to explode. I have a very low probability of coming back from these roams alive anyway. |

My alt flys Basis and Chimeras, but doesnt really come in fleets much as I hate dual boxing.
And cross training is definitely good, Amarr Frig V and T2 Small pulse was my first major cross train, and I think its great. |

For me it's the Incursus - I've found over the past few months that the Incursus is a pretty ridiculous solo frigate. It ain't quite as combat worthy as say a MSB Merlin, but ships like that can't even come close to matching the Incursus in 1. Speed and the ability to engage or disengage at will {not that you have to utilize the latter ability very often) and 2. Being completely underestimated. 150 + DPS at the edge of scram range isn't very fun for your enemy. HAI GUISE |

It has a pretty badass in its triple ad dual rep forms for engagins GCC in lowsec ect, doesnt quite have the ability to rengage and disngage at will, you commit and hope your cap boosters dont run out xD I personaly have had some nice engagments with them though especialy when in gangs of 2 or 3 of them, unless they have a considerable amount of neuts ewar and the like. Your usualy pretty likly o comeout ontop for BC and below. That is if you know how to fly them

Do most of my pvp solo and in gal hulls even though i can fly every race.
Frig:
Incursus - cheap and lots of fun either as a total dps glass cannon or with a shield tank buffer
Tristan - great ship but hard to fit with anything less than max skills. still a bit pg gimped compared to the others.
Riffter - number 1 for a reason.
Destroyer:
Thrasher -- nasty dps with great speed makes for fun fights
Cormorant -- maybe it's just my good luck but i've been slaughtering af's with it the last few weeks, don't underestimate this ship
Cruiser:
Vexor - amazing ship that only gets better as your skills improve. ( works best with small guns and a med neut )
Thorax - was good before but the blaster buff has made it more than equal to all the others
Celestis/Exequor - not dps monsters but all those juicy mids make for tons of e-war possibilities. excellent kite boats.
Rupture - in your face armor or kite/shield always a fun ship to fly
Moa - as with most caldari gun boats very underrated and underused
Arbi - fun to fly with a td+neut fit but will normally get mauled by a vex. ( Not sure why but hardly ever see omens or maulers in low sec pvp )
Domi -- cheap and tons of fun. Like the vexor it goes from good --> bad ---> Evil as your skills progress. Best with a large neut med AC set up.
Firetail is a great ship at a bargain price. Fleet stabber to.
Haven't found a comet fit i like yet but it has alot of potential as either a brawler or kite ship.
Ishkur - was great before even better now with the af buff
Enyo -- was quite good before but I've yet to find a post buff fit i like
have fun and gl. |

****-fit Tempest has great DPS, good enough tank and the 2x heavy neuts are like having a Curse alt running around with me. Nanodrake has a really wide variety of targets it can engage and win against, with a lot of dudes thinking to themselves "it's just a drake" and welping their pwnboat to it. Tengu is pretty obvious, speed, sigtank, "good enough" DPS, etc.

Drake. It's hard to find a reason to fly anything but. |

Whatever is in the hanger that I don't mind losing.
Some days I only feel like losing frigates - other days I sacrifice Battlecruisers to the blob gods.
wtf - why won't signatures delete? |

I like the look of the Harbinger but I started Gallente, so I guess I should at least train to a point where I'm using those ships. I don't want to cross train too early. Gallente has nice battleships. Below I only find the Brutix mentionable (concerning T1 fleet ships). Don't hesitate to crosstrain. It's rarely wasted. You sir, seem not to have heard of the Myrmidon yet. Nobody really uses it in fleets (or shouldn't). Except for specialized spidertank experiments.
I've flown them in shield fleets but frankly they never impressed me in that role. Sad fact is, as boring as they are, the drake is better for fleets.
As a solo pvp ship for low-sec, however, the Myrmidon really shines. If you set them up well they can tank like a brick wall (passively tanks >500dps or even up to 700-odd if you bling-bling fit them) and make reasonably good dps at short range too. It means you can perma-tank gate guns plus some degree of dps while fighting with drones and neuting. For attacking things like ratting/mission running ships, it's really good and it's the best low-sec gate camping ship in the game if you ask me. In combination with a rapier it's pretty awesome and I'm reasonably confident that it can solo any other T1 BC sized ship or smaller with relative ease. They're not that good against nano ships though because even though the nano-hacs/cynabal etc. aren't really a big threat to it, they can just burn away when they realize that they can't kill you. That's why it's best to work together with a rapier.
Just don't put it in a fleet that needs to fight at any range.
These days I spend most of my solo PVP time in a vagabond though. It has a crappy tank but you can compensate by sig tanking it with drugs and implants and it makes a good battleship or Tier 3 BC killer. It's also quick enough to gtfo if you end up biting off more than you can chew. It requires a little more finesse to fly than the myrmidon but I find it more fun so I fly it more.
As far as recons go, my favorite one to fly is a dampy Arazu, especially in a small gang or for BLOPS if we're attacking battleships or any kind of ratting ship that isn't likely to be mwd fit.

As a total nub, I'm really enjoying the Arbitrator.
I appreciate the versatility that it provides. I can set it up as a long range drone sniping boat, a beefily tanked brawler, or an EWAR boat with TDs and Neuts.
Even as a plain ECM jamming boat, it functions very nearly as well as a Blackbird. What you lose in jamming strength to your ship is almost entirely made up for by the full flight of Medium ECM drones. You need to be at a closer range to do it, but you get a much bigger tank to compensate. The range between the Blackbird and the Arbitrator in terms of ECM Ewar is much smaller than people think.
Basically the Arbitrator can do anything except WTFGank DPS (although its DPS is still solid), but I guess nobody gets EVERYTHING.
Did I turn a simple question into a love letter to my little Arbi? My bad. |
