To all the pirates out there who love to bash macrominers, check Eygfe Icefield. Dozens of them. I have petitioned it but I dont know how fast CCP reacts. Here is the copy of my petition.
A large group of mining barges with some haulers are depleting the Icefield in Eygfe. Names are :
rrrtef gfytgffg dfgfdgr fghteew ghyrr htrfgdw SheaLorin huniip trtyrte hykijhjyt dfswegt jkliuyt wefgty gighmniki sdfedt werewfd thrttr jinthu (Iteron V) EEquals mcSquared Bratos Barr
MIgth be more haulers So many that I cant see all Some few migth be legitime I dont know. However whole field is littered with secure cans Please wipe them off the game.
They are mining at this moment

Well I aint a miner so I cant tell but it seems to be a market for these. And so far I understand it is the same boredom to mine ice as it is to mine regular ore so...... I mean its the same, you sit on your butt and suck roids right ?

Everyone has his price
Macros broke for a couple of days after trinity and ice products increased about 50% in price.
So, what would your price be? 100% more isk icemining than what it is today? 200? 300?
You're not getting either choice (nor the now forgotten eve miners) because of the macrominers.
If nothing is being done for macrominers, I'd rather we bought ice from npc's. Isk exit the game and the macro-users (possibly isk sellers?) get a kick in the nuts. As it is now, I don't see people icemining no more. Real people have limited time to play, macro's don't. As such, macro's will drop the iceprice and keep working on it for half of what any real player would.

You don't know if they are macroers. They can be just farmers and, thus, all fine in the eyes of ccp.

I make 30-60M an hour from these clowns. If they leave, there would be no viable ore-thieving in empire :o)
Well then the price would skyrocket and stealing from regular players is easier.. I guess its a win-win for me

I didn't get any macroers per say; couldn't get the can flipping thing to work and they seemed to have a rapier guarding one group of them. However, I did vaporize a condor whose pilot started smacking me in local and then shot at the can I dropped. I still don't understand what he was flipping out over.

Probably not a good idea, as you see, medium smarties don't get the job done before CONCORDOKKEN. Was cost-neutral though, thank you platinum insurance. Whole bunch of retriever's in structure though! (probably still in the field)

Supposedly thats not permitted by the EULA, but I doubt that prohibition is often enforced. My major concerns were more along the lines of "Do I need the isk?", "Do I have a hauler handy?", and "Do I actually want to go get this hauler and steal this ice ore?". The answers to all three of these questions is no, with explanation for the last one being that I'm a lazy bastard. So I just blew it all up.

I hit one group quite hard one session, taking about ~100 mil in ice in a couple hours.
1st they tried to "steal back the ore, well you can imagined what happened then. (BTW they usually just have some T2 expanders on their ity5's)
So after a couple failed attempts at stealing it back, one of the haulers got a drake out and attempted to attack me. Now you want to see something funny - get attacked by a chinaman in a drake. Some funny-a** **** there folks.
I am still waiting for the blob of ravens, tho. I think that crew just takes care of the mission-farmers, however.

I doubt CCP cares too much about macrominers. They mimic real life scenarios.. low paid underage asian workers in factories (or cybercafes) working to produce huge quantities of an inexpensive item. Without china, the prices of everything would be significantly altered irl. _______________________________________________ Minmatar will always go faster than you, get over it. |

The ore was acquired using macros and is thus contraband by the EULA.

from what my buddies tell me, all you do is rob the macros till they complain or attack you, then blackmail them (50 mil or i petition you), then, when/if they pay, pop them and petition them.
or just get a small gang together to rob/pop them, and if concord pops you, petition the loss. i think they reimburse you if you get popped in the act of griefing a macro

To quote Chevy Chase: Feta you ingnorant ****!!
The ice macro's are only selling a small percentage of what they mine. CCP is removing ALL of secure space ICE. The belts are not regenreating and when the macro's strip them dry they are removed. Fuel prices WILL jump at least 1000x when the macro's are the only ones selling fuel. {good by empire reseach POS forever, unless you do as the macro's wish and buy ISK from them to counter the inflationset BY THEM}.
DO you really want them making even MORE illegal gains in the real money trade economy?? report em, pop em and POD em.
Anyone and any aliance saying ICE macro's are a good thing deserve to pod killed back to oblivion. You are just pathetic and lazy as hell to say this.

Still have sec status left to sacrifice? Pop the pod. You can wait in station for your aggro timer to go down to zero, since the pod will be warping back and forth in a ~ 6 minute rythm for about half an hour anyways. -- OP: "I don't know how to f*ck!" Reply: "rtfm!" |

I am supprised by how many times in C&P Forum people say "These guys are macro mining, etc". If it really is a mining operation for isk-sellers, then it isn't macro mined. No one uses macros today, especially when it only costs a few dollars a day (and with the low price of the dollar) to hire a person to sit around and mine for perhaps even a 100+. Itjnhlt9p04 is not a macro miner, it is a guy sitting in front of a computer, a guy who most likely understand about as much english, as you understand chinese.
For those of you who say: "why don't CCP ban these players", the reason is simple. Having a random name is not against the EULA, Mining minerals are not against the EULA, not speaking English is not against the EULA. Only selling ISK is against the EULA, and it is not the farmers who do that. The money that get transfered from the farmers to their seller characters (not those yelling in noob chat, the ones that transfer), can also be transfered in many ways, f.eks. by selling 1 Small Titanium Sabot round for 1 billion, something which is not against the EULA. This may make it harder to track the flow of ISK, because CCP do that, and when they have found one mining operation, which is acting under the EULA, they can track the flow of ISK, from the miners, to the sellers and eventually to the buyers, banning the seller and nerfing the buyers wallet.
